The Final Destination Bloodlines trailer introduces the family who may have started death’s gruesome rampage. The sixth installment in the supernatural horror franchise, the forthcoming film follows a college student plagued by a recurring nightmare foretelling her family’s death who returns home to find the one person who can prevent it. Final Destination Bloodlines‘ cast is comprised almost entirely of newcomers, including Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Brec Bᴀssinger. The late Tony Todd reprises his role as William Bludworth for one final time.
Now, Warner Bros. has released the first full-length trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines. The trailer begins with a minute-long death scene, in all its Rube Goldberg machine glory, before the family’s grandmother, Iris, reveals that, years ago, she “had a premonition that started it all.” She was able to “save a lot of lives that night, lives that were never meant to be saved,” and in the present, death comes for her family since “they were never supposed to exist.” Watch the trailer below:
What The Final Destination Bloodlines Trailer Means For The Movie
Everything Revealed By The Trailer
After the first teaser trailer featured nothing but a gnarly death scene in its entirety, as a tattoo artist is hung from a ceiling fan by his nose piercing and burns to death, the first full-length trailer reveals much more about the sequel’s story. Similar to 2011’s Final Destination 5, the forthcoming film will function partially as a prequel, introducing the character, Iris, who may have started death’s gruesome rampage years ago, which has been coming for the franchise’s characters since the very beginning.
In an attempt to keep her family safe in the present, Iris gives her granddaughter a book containing information about past disasters, including the iconic logging truck scene from Final Destination 2. Iris appears to have started death’s gruesome rampage years ago, and retreading the franchise’s past disasters appears to be the key to stopping it once and for all. At the end of the trailer, the late Tony Todd, who pᴀssed away in November 2024, makes an appearance as William Bludworth, remarking, “Only by embracing death will it pᴀss you by… good luck.”
Our Take On The Final Destination Bloodlines Trailer
It Sets Itself Apart From Past Sequels
The Final Destination Bloodlines trailers have revealed several gruesome death sequences and intricate Rube Goldberg-style fatalities, which have always been the franchise’s main attractions, and should ensure the latest installment is at least a box office success. However, Bloodlines also boasts a deeper narrative hook, tying back to the origins of Death’s design, which adds an intriguing new layer to the story that connects to past installments. However, whether Final Destination Bloodlines can avoid being a total retread remains to be seen.
Final Destination Bloodlines releases on May 16.
