Final Destination: Bloodlines Image Reveals First Look At Tony Todd’s Final On-Screen Role

A Final Destination Bloodlines image reveals the first look at Tony Todd’s final on-screen role. As the sixth installment in the horror franchise, the forthcoming film follows a college student who, plagued by a recurring nightmare that foretells her family’s death, returns home to find the one person who can prevent it. Final Destination Bloodlines‘ cast includes newcomers Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, and Brec Bᴀssinger. The only returning cast member is Tony Todd, who pᴀssed away in November 2024 and reprises his role as William Bludworth for one final time.

Now, via Blavity, an image from Final Destination Bloodlines reveals the first look at Tony Todd’s final on-screen role as William Bludworth. The image shows the character, who is a mortician and the owner of Bludworth Funeral Homes, seemingly sitting in an embalming room. Check out the image below:

What The Final Destination Bloodlines Image Means For The Movie

Tony Todd Is Returning For The Final Time

Introduced back in the original Final Destination movie from 2000, Tony Todd’s William Bludworth is a mortician and the owner of Bludworth Funeral Homes. He is the only character to appear in nearly every installment, including Final Destination 2, Final Destination 5, and the upcoming Final Destination Bloodlines. Todd also makes a cameo in Final Destination 3, voicing a devil in a theme park attraction at the beginning of the movie.

The first Final Destination Bloodlines trailer featured one gnarly death scene in its entirety, as a tattoo artist is hung from a ceiling fan by his nose piercing and burns to death. In turn, William Bludworth wasn’t featured in the teaser, so this image provides the first look at Tony Todd’s final on-screen role. With another Final Destination Bloodlines trailer releasing tomorrow, it should reveal more about the extent of William Bludworth’s role. In the image, he is wearing a name tag that reads “Hope River Hospital,” meaning he is likely visiting one of the new characters in the hospital.

Our Take On William Bludworth’s Return In Final Destination Bloodlines

Tony Todd’s Death Changes The Context

In the Final Destination franchise, William Bludworth displays a special knowledge of Death, its forces, and its capacities. In turn, fans have long theorized that the character is a personification of Death, or at least a major representative of it. However, following Tony Todd’s death, Bludworth’s final appearance in Final Destination Bloodlines takes on an additional context. The character’s deathly nature now mirrors the reality that Todd himself has pᴀssed away. It will be bittersweet to see Todd return as the ultimate representation of Death, ultimately providing an eerie, but hopefully poignant farewell for fans.

Final Destination: Bloodlines releases on May 16.
