Nosferatu star Nicholas Hoult has been brought into the fold of David Leitch’s bank-heist action feature. While he made appearances in About A Boy as a child actor, Hoult’s breakout role came with his portrayal of egotistical and manipulative anti-hero teen, Tony Stonem, in the teen drama Skins. In the cast of Robert Egger’s Nosferatu, Hoult portrayed devoted and loyal husband Thomas Hutter, who is swept up in the machinations of Bill Skarsgard’s Count Orlok’s plans.
Following his appearance in the late 2024 horror hit, Hoult has now joined Leitch and Amazon MGM Studio’s unтιтled bank heist action movie, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline. Though plot details are being kept under тιԍнт wraps by those involved, the script is penned by Mark Bianculli, and Leitch is set to take on directing duties. Leitch is also set to take on producer duties alongside Kelly McCormick, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody, and Allan Mandelbaum, with filming set to begin during the summer.
What Hoult’s Action Feature Means For His Career
Hoult’s Diverse Filmography Makes His Upcoming Role An Exciting Mystery
While a far cry from the snowy European landscapes and gothic horror of Nosferatu, Hoult’s collaboration with Leitch is an exciting prospect. Throughout his career, the actor has never been limited to one genre or even style within a genre. In the action genre alone, he has portrayed lovable maniac Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road, and shy but formidable Mutant hero, Hank McCoy, in the X-Men franchise. He’s also portrayed a lovesick zombie and remorseful Renfield in Warm Bodies and Renfield, respectively, before donning Hutter’s suit in his latest horror hit. As such, the actor has been able to showcase his incredible range with little repeтιтion.
Furthermore, though he may potentially be making his way to the set on Leitch’s bank heist feature thid summer, 2025 will mark a major moment for his career. With his portrayal of Lex Luthor in James Gunn’s franchise-launching Superman in July, Hoult will be able to dive back into a more antagonistic role while captivating audiences in a potential multi-movie role. As such, his portrayal of Luthor and appearance in Leitch’s new feature could keep him a big-screen mainstay for many years to come.
Our Thoughts On Hoult & Leitch’s Upcoming Action Feature
The Director Has Often Brought Out The Best In His Stars
While several of Leitch’s more recent features have had somewhat inconsistent receptions that range from mixed to well-received, and sometimes financially lackluster, as seen with both Bullet Train and The Fall Guy. Still, Hoult joining forces with the director is an exciting turn for audiences. Alongside solid action, Leitch’s features have often allowed the cast to shine through memorable characters, as seen with Gosling’s charming portrayal of hit stuntman Tom Ryder in The Fall Guy. As such, many may be eager to see just what kind of character Hoult can create with the director.
