The film begins in the early 17th century with Solomon Kane (James Purefoy), a ruthless and fearsome mercenary who fights for wealth and power. Terrified, Kane flees and renounces his violent ways, vowing to live a life of peace in the hopes of saving his soul.
Kane seeks sanctuary in a monastery but is soon forced back into action when he encounters the Crowthorn family, who are attacked by the evil sorcerer Malachi’s minions. When Meredith Crowthorn (Rachel Hurd-Wood) is kidnapped, Kane takes up arms once again to rescue her, embarking on a dangerous journey through a land overrun with supernatural forces and Malachi’s dark magic.
As Kane fights his way toward Malachi (Jason Flemyng), he grapples with his inner demons and struggles to redeem himself for his past. The film culminates in an epic battle between good and evil, where Kane must confront both external enemies and his own sense of guilt.
