5:13 AM — Iran Launches 8 Kh-31 Missiles at USS Abraham Lincoln — 29 Minutes of Tension.lh

In a bold and dangerous pre-dawn attack, Iranian forces fired eight Russian-made Kh-31 supersonic anti-ship missiles directly at the USS Abraham Lincoln, America’s iconic aircraft carrier operating in the Arabian Sea near the Strait of Hormuz.

The missiles were launched at 5:13 AM local time in what Pentagon officials describe as a deliberate and reckless attempt to strike one of the most powerful symbols of U.S. naval strength. For the next 29 minutes, intense tension gripped the entire carrier strike group as radars tracked the incoming supersonic threats.

U.S. Navy Aegis destroyers and the carrier’s own advanced defense systems responded immediately. SM-3 and SM-6 interceptors roared into the sky while electronic warfare aircraft jammed the missiles’ guidance systems. In a display of exceptional coordination, seven of the eight Kh-31 missiles were successfully destroyed mid-flight. The eighth missile was diverted by decoys and exploded harmlessly in the sea, just 800 meters from the carrier.

No damage was sustained by the USS Abraham Lincoln or any escort ships. The carrier continues operations at full strength.

A senior U.S. Navy commander stated:
“For 29 minutes, every sailor on board was at battle stations. Iran’s attempt to hit an American aircraft carrier has failed completely. This attack will not go unanswered. The response will be precise, powerful, and proportionate.”

The strike comes amid growing desperation from the Iranian regime as it faces mounting losses across the region. U.S. forces have already begun retaliatory strikes against the Iranian launch sites and supporting radar installations.

This brazen attack on the USS Abraham Lincoln marks a serious escalation. For nearly half an hour, the world held its breath as one of America’s most powerful warships came under direct fire.

This is a rapidly developing story. The 29 minutes of tension have now pᴀssed — but the consequences for Iran are only beginning.
