Raya 2 – The Last Dragon War is the highly anticipated sequel to Disney’s 2021 animated hit Raya and the Last Dragon. Directed by Carlos López Estrada and Don Hall, the film continues the epic journey of Raya (voiced by Kelly Marie Tran), the fearless warrior princess who once saved Kumandra from the ancient Druun. But as peace begins to waver, a new and even greater threat emerges, putting everything she fought for at risk.
Set several years after the first film, Raya 2 begins with the discovery of a long-lost kingdom holding the secret to an ancient force—the Last Dragon’s Heartstone. Said to have the power to control both life and death, this legendary artifact could either bring eternal harmony or unleash unimaginable destruction. When a ruthless warlord named Karnak (voiced by Oscar Isaac) seeks to claim the Heartstone for himself, the fragile alliance between Kumandra’s kingdoms—Heart, Fang, Tail, and Spine—begins to unravel.
Now a battle-hardened warrior, Raya embarks on a perilous mission to prevent Karnak from seizing the Heartstone. Accompanied by her loyal allies—Sisu (voiced by Awkwafina), the last dragon, and Boun (voiced by Izaac Wang), the quick-witted boatman—she also finds unexpected new companions, each carrying their own motives and burdens. As she faces treacherous enemies and moral dilemmas, Raya must confront her deepest fears about trust, unity, and the true meaning of power.
As tensions rise and war looms, Raya 2 explores themes of leadership, sacrifice, and the struggle to rebuild a divided world. Featuring breathtaking animation, thrilling action sequences, and emotionally charged storytelling, the sequel promises to take audiences deeper into Kumandra’s mystical lore.
