Jason Momoa Confirms Key Detail About The DCU’s Upcoming Version Of Lobo In Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow

Jason Momoa teases one of the classic Lobo elements that the DC Universe is adapting for his upcoming debut in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. One of the most highly anticipated films coming out of the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” slate is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, featuring Milly Alcock as the next cinematic Girl of Steel. A big addition to Kara Zor-El’s solo movie is that of DC’s Lobo, who will be played by Momoa, following his time with the DCEU franchise where he played Aquaman.

In a new interview with ComicBook, Momoa briefly spoke about his upcoming version of Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is currently in production. When Momoa was asked about bringing Lobo’s adult language to the big-screen, the former Aquaman star stated that “We’ve been saying fraggin’ and bastich quite a bit,” referencing the character’s famous catch-phrases from the comics.

What Jason Momoa’s Lobo Comments Mean For The DCU’s Bounty Hunter

Even though Lobo may not have been part of the original Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series, which this film is based on, Momoa’s addition as the DC bounty hunter is already set to be one of the more fascinating aspects to follow in the story. Whether or not Momoa’s Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has a small or big role remains to be seen. However, the actor’s commentary about how they are looking to honor as many details as possible of the DC character’s comic counterpart is incredibly promising.

Since Lobo has never gotten the theatrical treatment, Momoa – who is a major fan of the character – being the one to bring him to life has the potential to make him a breakout player in the DCU. Depending on how he gets set up in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, having him as one of the fun reoccurring characters featured in the DCU would also let Momoa have a completely different experience compared to his time as Aquaman in the DCEU movie timeline. If anything, it would have been more shocking if Momoa’s Lobo didn’t have the small traits like his famous cussing from the comics.

Our Take On Jason Momoa’s Lobo Comments

Lobo with flowing hair in DC Comics

While the references that Momoa is making to Lobo may be new territory for general audience members who don’t follow the character in the DC world, it’s great to hear that DC Studios is embracing as many aspects of this character as possible. As time will tell how Lobo fits into the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow cast, it will also be fascinating to see how Momoa’s character fits into the overall DCU franchise. Hopefully, more details about Momoa’s take on Lobo will be revealed as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow gets closer to wrapping production.
