This would give the American production company full leeway to do whatever they want with the franchise in its next phase, whether it be a feature film or a TV spinoff. Though the new production control was major news, the franchise is still waiting for progress as the work to select the next 007 actor continues.
Some forward motion seems to be in play, for, as per Puck, Bond 26 has reportedly picked its producers. The reports say that David Heyman and Amy Pascal will produce the next installment. This comes after these producers were rumored among a list of potential names to take over for Broccoli and Wilson. Furthermore, the report claims that Amazon’s plan will be to put out a theatrically released Bond 26 before any TV spinoff series. Puck also suggests that Heyman and Pascal’s hiring does not put Christopher Nolan’s potential directing plans out of the running.

The reported confirmation that Amazon will focus on the Bond 26 movie before any TV content is also significant. A report earlier this month revealed that Amazon had suggested several ideas for 007-based TV shows in the past that were shut down by Broccoli and Wilson when they had control of the franchise.
