One Battle After Another Teaser: First Look At Leo DiCaprio In PTA’s 2025 Blockbuster Revealed In Gunfire-Heavy Preview

A trailer has been released for One Battle After Another. One Battle After Another is the latest movie by directing legend Paul Thomas Anderson, whose most recent feature film was Licorice Pizza in 2021. The movie tells the story of a group of ex-revolutionaries who reunite to rescue one of their daughters when a past enemy resurfaces after 18 years. The cast is led by Leonardo DiCaprio, and also features Benecio del Toro, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Wood Harris, Teyana Taylor, and Alana Haim. One Battle After Another is set for release on September 26, 2025.

Now, Warner Bros. has released the trailer for One Battle After Another. The teaser opens with DiCaprio’s character being startled by gunsH๏τs, and the scene cuts to show a pregnant woman wielding a machine gun. As gunsH๏τs continue to consume the soundscape, DiCaprio is witnessed running and one frame shows a baby. A voice off-screen asks DiCaprio “what are you gonna do about this baby?” More gunsH๏τs are fired, with DiCaprio eventually holding a gun too. The end of the teaser noted that a full trailer for One Battle After Another will be released next week.

What This Trailer Means For One Battle After Another

Its High Budget Is Clear

Even through this short teaser, the intensity of One Battle After Another is palpable. The 21-second clip is overwhelmed by the sounds of gunfire, which is even seen rattling the characters as it does to DiCaprio in one of the first frames. The fact that a pregnant woman is one of the shooters suggests that the film’s characters have incredibly high stakes in what they’re fighting for. If the full film has any resemblance to this teaser, it will be a tense movie.

The crime-drama trailer also reveals how distinct the movie is from many of Anderson’s other works. One Battle After Another is already a departure from Anderson’s typical film in that it has a reported $115 million budget. Notably, this budget is a higher value than any of his previous films have even made at the box office. The dramatic teaser reveals part of why this budget is so high, as the film likens itself more to a summer blockbuster pace than the day-in-the-life vibe of something like Licorice Pizza.

Our Take On The One Battle After Another Teaser Trailer

The Film Is A Change From Anderson’s Usual Fare

While we will not have to wait long for the full trailer to reveal more, this is an exciting tease for the upcoming film. Anderson films only come once every few years, this time having a fairly typical four-year gap between feature films. This time Anderson has come back with a bang, and sometimes literally. One Battle After Another looks to be a sharp departure from the likes of his three previous films (Licorice Pizza, Phantom Thread, and Inherent Vice), and if successful, this could be a welcome change.
