Chris Pratt Joins Stranger Things In Demogorgon-Filled Electric State Crossover Art

The worlds of Stranger Things

and The Electric State

collide in a new piece of crossover art that imagines Chris Pratt entering the Upside Down. Millie Bobby Brown continues to be a fixture of Netflix’s original programming, getting her start as Eleven in the Duffer brothers’ hit fantasy-horror show, which is now gearing up for the release of its final season. Ahead of Stranger Things season 5, though, Brown starred in The Electric State, a Netflix original sci-fi movie in which she plays Michelle, an orphan who teams up with Pratt’s Keats for an epic road trip.

Artist Sonnyfive on Instagram now imagines what these two Brown-starring properties would look like if their worlds collided in “Electric Hawkins,” with characters from The Electric State entering the fantasy horror world of Stranger Things. The art features Brown and Pratt as Michelle and Keats, respectively, standing with their robot companions atop a tentacle-covered hill in the Upside Down. In addition to robots, the art features Demogorgons lurking ominously in the background. Check out the impressive crossover art below:

What The Stranger Things & Electric State Crossover Art Means For Netflix

One Hasn’t Been As Well-Received As The Other

Stranger Things remains the most popular Netflix тιтle for Brown, though her 2024 action fantasy movie, Damsel, does remain the streamer’s ninth most popular movie ever. With two major stars and Avengers: Endgame (2019) directors Joe and Anthony Russo at the helm, the ingredients were in place for The Electric State to become Brown’s biggest project yet, but that hasn’t quite come to pᴀss. The Electric State reviews have been scathing from critics, and the audience response has been somewhat lukewarm.

As seen in the chart below, there’s a clear difference in the responses to Stranger Things and The Electric State on Rotten Tomatoes. Stranger Things reviews have been generally glowing from critics and audiences alike, and the series currently ranks as the second most-popular English-language Netflix show of all time. The Electric State may rank as the most popular movie on Netflix for this week, but the mixed reception to the movie could hinder its long-term prospects in terms of breaking into the all-time top 10 list.

Our Take On The Stranger Things & Electric State Crossover Art

Why An Actual Crossover Shouldn’t Happen

Eleven is looking distressed while looking at the mirror in Stranger Things

Even though The Electric State cast features some impressive names, including Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, and Giancarlo Esposito, and stunning visual effects, the movie arguably doesn’t really deliver when it comes to story. Still, though, on paper, a crossover between the film and Stranger Things is an exciting prospect. The fact that Brown is already in both properties could also make it easy to explain a collision between these two worlds, especially since Stranger Things deals with alternate dimensions.

Although the art above teases an interesting combination of sci-fi and fantasy, an actual crossover between The Electric State and Stranger Things seems unlikely to happen, and this is probably for the best. With the latter set to end later this year and the former falling short when it comes to quality, there’s just no need to manufacture a scenario in which the two merge into one. For now, a crossover between Stranger Things and The Electric State is best left in the world of fan art.
