One Mandalorian Star Just Totally Convinced Me She’s Appearing In Star Wars’ Next Movie

Bo-Katan Kryze actor Katee Sackhoff has long since been speculated to be an inevitable part of The Mandalorian and Grogu, and now, this quote about her involvement in Star Wars’ next movie has me downright convinced about it. Sackhoff has been portraying Bo-Katan in Star Wars ever since the character’s debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and she had quite the role to play in The Mandalorian season 3, in some ways taking the lead from the тιтular hero, Din Djarin. Now, ahead of The Mandalorian‘s upcoming movie, it’s hopeful that she will return yet again.

Speaking during a panel at Indiana Comic Con (via Collider), Sackhoff was asked about the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, regarding whether she would be appearing as Bo-Katan or not. Sackhoff offered one simple yet telling statement: “I have not been in the armor in 2025.” According to Collider, this information was presented by Sackhoff along with a big grin, another strong indicator that Sackhoff’s words are not as they seem at face-value.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Wrapped Filming In 2024…

Of Course Sackhoff Wouldn’t Be In The Armor After Filming

Sackhoff was clearly trying to avoid revealing a secret that wasn’t yet hers to tell, but her words reveal enough already for those who are familiar with how production on The Mandalorian and Grogu has been going. Filming for the next Star Wars movie was completed in December 2024, as confirmed by Lucasfilm’s own Dave Filoni, which means that Sackhoff would technically still be telling the truth here even if she was indeed in the movie.

It’s clear that Sackhoff was simultaneously attempting to throw off the scent while also wanting to give audiences something to hope for and look forward to as new details about The Mandalorian and Grogu movie emerge over the next year. Now that we’re only just over a year away from The Mandalorian and Grogu‘s premiere, it seems likely that casting like Sackhoff’s will be revealed in due time. This could be the first step of many more, if Star Wars chooses to release a trailer at next month’s Star Wars Celebration event in Japan that confirms Sackhoff’s return.

Our Take On Bo-Katan’s Star Wars Future

She’s One Of The Galaxy’s Most Important Mandalorians

It wouldn’t be a surprise at all, really, to see Bo-Katan play a role in The Mandalorian and Grogu, if only because of how pivotal of a Mandalorian character she has truly become over the years – especially after The Mandalorian season 3. Not only did she form a firm alliance with Din Djarin, but she also became the indisputable leader of Mandalore once again, a planet that is only just starting to rebuild. I find it hard to imagine that, despite living on Nevarro and working for the New Republic, Din Djarin won’t be around to ᴀssist.

If we’re lucky, we could potentially even see Bo-Katan in her leadership role more in The Mandalorian and Grogu, perhaps even dealing directly with the New Republic itself. There were some hints of this in The Mandalorian season 3, particularly episode 6 “Chapter 22: Guns for Hire,” when the Duchess tells Bo-Katan that Plazir-15 would support Mandalore in being recognized as a sovereign system by the New Republic. This sets up quite a journey for Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian and Grogu that I’m practically certain will come to fruition.

The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters May 22, 2026.
