WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Anora.
The 2025 Best Picture winner Anora has a strong soundtrack that supports the themes and quality of the celebrated film. Often considered the best of Sean Baker’s movies, Anora is still running H๏τ off its outstanding night at the 2025 Oscars, where it took home the Academy Awards for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Original Screenplay, Best Picture, and a surprising Best Actress win for Mikey Madison.
Anora is now streaming exclusively on Hulu although it is still playing in select theaters across the United States. Blending several genres, including romance, drama, and comedy, Anora is at times a story of liberation as much as it is about confinement, living in a world where wealth and power can dually provide opportunity and oppression. Exceptionally modern and emotionally poignant all the way through its touching ending, Anora is worthy of being 2024’s best film and even has the soundtrack to back it up.
