Carry-On has an intriguing successor with an upcoming 2025 horror movie. The 2024 Netflix hit starred Taron Egerton as Ethan Kopek, a TSA agent who is tormented by The Traveler (Jason Bateman), who attempts to use various, increasingly intense, means of manipulation to get Kopek to agree to let a dangerous package through. The movie, which was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by T. J. Fixman, also stars Sofia Carson, Danielle ᴅᴇᴀᴅwyler, Theo Rossi, Logan Marshall-Green, Dean Norris, Sinqua Walls, and Curtiss Cook.
The movie was a success by almost every measure, beginning with the fact that glowing Carry-On reviews earned it a Certified Fresh score of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Taron Egerton movie also broke Netflix streaming records, earning a place on the streaming service’s all-time Top 10 English-language movies chart within four weeks and eventually landing at No. 2 with 171.5 million viewers, surpᴀssing the Best Picture nominee Don’t Look Up (171.4 million views) and only falling behind the action-comedy Red Notice (230.9 million views). Now, its legacy is set to be continued in an unusual way.

However, Danielle ᴅᴇᴀᴅwyler joins Vera Farmiga (Orphan, The Commuter) as one of the rare actors to appear in Collet-Serra movies across multiple genres in addition to becoming the first female actor to play a major role in two Collet-Serra тιтles in a row.
The Woman In The Yard Will Be Nothing Like Carry-On
The Movie’s Tone Is Entirely Different
The Woman in the Yard will be extremely different from Carry-On. While the 2024 movie was a pulse-pounding thriller, the 2025 horror movie will rely on a heavy dose of atmosphere and dread. This is a mode that Jaume Collet-Serra has proven his apтιтude with in previous тιтles such as 2009’s Orphan and 2005’s House of Wax, but it will cement his collaboration with ᴅᴇᴀᴅwyler as one of the most varied of his career. It remains to be seen if they collaborate again in the future, but so far it seems that their working relationship has been tremendously fruitful.
