Vincent D’Onofrio Responds To Rumor Kingpin Will Be The Main Villain Of The MCU’s Spider-Man 4: “Is That Right?”

Wilson Fisk actor Vincent D’Onofrio confirms whether or not Kingpin will be Spider-Man 4‘s main villain. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk returns in Daredevil: Born Again as the new Mayor of New York, once again facing off against Matt Murdock. Fisk and Murdock’s first shared appearance in the MCU has sparked speculation about their possible return in the MCU’s upcoming Spider-Man 4, which could be a more grounded movie than Tom Holland’s previous three solo Spider-Man movies.

On X, Daredevil: Born Again star Vincent D’Onofrio addresses the rumors that Wilson Fisk will be the main villain in Spider-Man 4, saying “Is that right? Well no one has told me.” D’Onofrio’s response suggests Kingpin won’t be Spider-Man 4‘s main antagonist. And if he is, D’Onofrio probably hasn’t been hired yet. What Vincent D’Onofrio’s Spider-Man 4 Rumor Response Means

Vincent D’Onofrio Debunks Rumors That He’s Attached To Appear In Spider-Man 4

Casting announcements for Spider-Man 4 have officially begun with the confirmation of Sadie Sink’s undisclosed MCU role, but it may still take a while for Marvel Studios to confirm Spider-Man 4‘s full cast and plot, let alone its main antagonist. However, at this point in the movie’s development, the studios might have contacted potential candidates for this role. If Spider-Man 4‘s main villain isn’t Wilson Fisk, Marvel may already have chosen a different antagonist, but their casting process may not be finished yet.

In the case that Marvel and Sony do plan to give Wilson Fisk the main (or secondary) antagonist role in Spider-Man 4, it’s possible that Vincent D’Onofrio hasn’t signed a contract yet, or that the studios prefer to keep his return a secret. Previously, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men were only officially confirmed to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home when the movie hit theaters, although their participation in the 2021 movie had already been discovered by fans months beforehand.

There’s A Chance Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk Will Appear In Spider-Man 4

While Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk may not be Spider-Man 4‘s main antagonist, Fisk is very likely to play a role in the sequel’s plot. After all, Wilson Fisk has not only become the Mayor of New York, but he has also launched a crusade against all New York vigilantes. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has been focusing on local crime-fighting since Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s ending, making him the perfect target for Fisk. Taking Daredevil: Born Again‘s story into account, both Wilson Fisk and Daredevil could be major players in the events of Spider-Man 4.
