The 30-minute journey on foot begins with a steep, shaded climb through a forest of towering pine trees. The extensive Lower Enclosure measures 60 by 25 metres and is surrounded by imposing outer walls that rise to heights of 8 to 10 metres. These well-preserved walls are equipped with towers and battlements that illustrate the castle’s formidable defensive architecture.
