Joe and Anthony Russo respond to whether Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will feature any of Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes. While The Multiverse Saga hasn’t yet featured any Avengers installments, that is about to change with Phase 6, which has not one, but two films centered on the MCU’s iconic superhero team on the way. As Doomsday and Secret Wars will feature various characters from the Marvel timeline for the Phase 6 films, the biggest question surrounding the projects is which heroes will appear.
In a new interview with TechRadar, the outlet asked the Russo brothers if characters like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, or Wiccan could show up in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars following their respective introductions on various Disney+ shows. While keeping it cryptic, Anthony Russo gave the following response about how they are approaching the casts for the two movies:
In terms of what we’re drawing on for our storytelling, we take the comprehensive view of the MCU. So, without getting into anything more specific than that, this is the universe we’re telling a story within. You can read into that what you like.
What The Russo Brothers’ Comments Mean For Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars
It’s Time For The MCU TV Heroes To Get Their Due In The Movies
In true Marvel Studios fashion, it is no surprise that the Russo brothers aren’t able to confirm who is and isn’t set to be part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, as well as those involved with Secret Wars. It is always up to Marvel Studios when it comes to how much they reveal about their respective films, especially for something as big as the Avengers movies. Major announcements like the Disney+ heroes being in the Avengers sequels could be something they’re saving for San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
Given the mᴀssive arc that will take place in Avengers: Doomsday, and the inclusion of Secret Wars as source material, there will likely be a variety of established and newly introduced heroes in the Multiverse Saga finale. It’d be shocking if they didn’t have most of the Disney+ heroes who were introduced in Phases 4 through 6 in the two movies, especially as they deal with a major threat like Doctor Doom. It would also be a huge waste if the newer heroes from the shows didn’t get a chance to join what will be a new generation of Avengers.
Our Take On The Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Doomsday & Avengers: Secret Wars Comments
The Entire MCU Needs To Unite Against Victor Von Doom
While they have to remain тιԍнт-lipped for now, it’s clear that the Russo brothers are paying attention to the major expectations for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. As Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom takes center stage, Phase 6 will need all the heroes united more than ever. Hopefully, more updates on who will be part of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will start to emerge sooner rather than later throughout 2025.
