Where To Watch All 5 Ghostbusters Movies

The Ghostbusters franchise includes comic books, video games, television shows, and, most importantly, five feature films – and all the Ghostbusters movies are noward available for streaming. Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis launched the series when they wrote the script for the first Ghostbusters movie, which was released in 1984. It was a mᴀssive critical and commercial success, receiving overwhelming praise and grossing $295.2 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing movie of 1984. Consequently, sequels were ordered, television series were made, action figures were sold, and the Ghostbusters franchise is still alive and thriving 40 years after its premiere.

The five Ghostbusters movies are Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II, Ghostbusters (2016), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024). The first two movies featured the original team of parapsychologists — Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Ray Stantz, Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler, and Eddie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore. Meanwhile, the 2016 film was a reboot of the franchise featuring an all-female ghost-catching team. However, the fourth movie directly connects to the original films, taking place 32 years after the ending of Ghostbusters II and revolving around the late Spengler’s daughter and grandchildren, with 2024’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Emprie continuing their story.

Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters 2 Can Be Streamed On Max

HBO’s Streaming Platform Is Where To Stream The Original Ghostbusters Movies

The first two of the five Ghostbusters movies, 1984’s Ghostbusters and 1989’s Ghostbusters 2, are currently available to stream on Max, HBO’s streaming platform. A Max subscription is currently priced at $9.99 per month, with an Amazon Prime Video add-on package also available for the same price. The first two Ghostbusters movies were added to Max in March 2025 and, at the time of writing, it’s unknown when they will leave the service.
