Director James Gunn provides a new glimpse at Superman‘s cast with a behind-the-scenes picture of Rachel Bronsahan’s Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific, and himself filming the upcoming DCU movie. Superman‘s star-studded cast of characters includes mainstay Superman icons such as Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, as well as other DC characters who have never appeared in a live-action movie before. Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific, in particular, is a fresh addition to the DCU, as the character only has one previous live-action adaptation.

On X, Superman director James Gunn celebrates Mister Terrific actor Edi Gathegi’s birthday with a picture of Gathegi’s Mister Terrific and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane in full costume on the Superman set. Superman’s Supporting Heroes Will Receive Their Due Time In The Spotlight

DC characters like Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, the Engineer, and Krypto have spent decades without a movie adaptation, and now they’re a key part of Superman’s first DCU movie. James Gunn’s Superman will likely be the start of a long and rich journey for each of them, and they will likely pop up in various projects afterward. Mister Terrific could be a future member of a Justice League team, his own “The Terrifics” team, or as the star of his own DCU movie or show.

James Gunn Might Be Keeping Most Of Mister Terrific’s Superman Scenes Under Wraps

The Mister Terrific picture James Gunn shares on X seems to have been taken on the same set as the one where Mister Terrific creates a force field in the first Superman trailer. In this scene, Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific appears to be approaching an army in a peaceful manner. Out of the four members of Mister Terrific’s superhero team, Edi Gathegi’s genius hero seems to be the most cold-headed. Whether this specific scene takes place in a fictional country like Boravia or Pokolistan is yet to be confirmed.

James Gunn’s new Mister Terrific image suggests that Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane is present in the same scene from the first Superman trailer. It’s possible that Lois Lane is on an investigation of Mister Terrific’s activities abroad, or perhaps she gets caught in the middle of a conflict and Mister Terrific arrives to help her. It wouldn’t be out of character for Lois Lane to face a whole army all by herself just to get to the truth.
