Alleged Blake Lively And Anna Kendrick Feud Gets A Definitive Response From Another Simple Favor Director

Another Simple Favor director Paul Feig responds to the alleged feud between lead stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. Directed by Feig, the thriller comedy debuted at SXSW on March 7. The sequel sees Lively and Kendrick reprise their respective roles as Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers following the ending of A Simple Favor. However, since the release of the first movie, there have been rumors about a rift between the co-stars.

On X (formerly Twitter), Feig responded to the alleged feud going on between Lively and Kendrick. While replying to social media influencer Melanie King’s tweet about Lively being “terrified” about walking down the red carpet at the SXSW premiere with Kendrick, who’s reportedly “pissed and never wants to work with her again,” the director bluntly shuts down the rumor. What This Means For The Alleged Blake Lively And Anna Kendrick’s Drama

There Is No Actual Feud Between Them

Both stars have recently been asked what it was like to work with each other again in the sequel. Last month, the Pitch Perfect star shared that they didn’t see each other often due to living on the opposite coasts. However, as shared during an interview with People, Kendrick said it was “lovely” to work with Lively again and described their on-set experience as familiar and “so fun.”

The It Ends With Us star shared that her experience working with Kendrick on Another Simple Favor was “the best,” and she was “so happy” to be involved in the project, as per Entertainment Tonight. The director’s comment aligns with what the two stars have previously shared, indicating that the particular claim about Kendrick not wanting to work with Lively is nothing more than just a rumor. Previously, Feig has also shared that the extremely positive experience he had working with both stars in the 2018 movie was part of why he wanted to do a sequel.

Our Take On Another Simple Favor’s Behind-The-Scenes Drama

They Clearly Enjoy working Together

It doesn’t seem like the two Another Simple Favor lead stars are feuding. Things on set have been playful and professional, at least. While they don’t necessarily have the closest relationship, it did sound like they both enjoyed working with each other on set, with the strange chemistry between Emily and Stephanie being a highlight, which gives fans something to look forward to once the movie comes to Prime Video on May 1.

The Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick feud didn’t come out of thin air. Back in 2018, they had some questionable moments caught on camera, including one where Kendrick told Lively not to touch her during an interview, which fueled the speculation that they weren’t getting along. With Lively being involved in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, interviewers have been trying to drag Kendrick into the drama. However, the star has made her position clear by focusing purely on Another Simple Favor.
