The Manson Family Killed At Least Nine People
Here They Are, In Chronological Order
Based on the trail of Charles Manson and the Manson Family members, it is confirmed that the Manson Family killed at least nine people throughout the 1960s. So, here is a full breakdown of each victim of the Manson Family in chronological order, who they were, and how they died.
Gary Alan Hinman
Gary Alan Hinman was 34 years old at the time of his murder, with him being a music teacher and UCLA graduate student. Hinman had befriended some members of the Manson Family, with them occasionally staying at his house. Manson believed that Hinman was a wealthy heir, with him telling the Manson Family members to convince him to join the Family. The three held Hinman hostage for three days in July 1969, with Bobby Beausoleil stabbing him to death.
Steven Parent
The most famous of the Manson Family murders occurred at the home of Sharon Tate from August 8 to August 9, 1969. Steven Parent was 18 years old, with him arriving to the property as Tex Watson, Linda Kasbian, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Susan Atkins were approaching the house. According to Chaos: The Manson Murders, Parent was there to sell something to the property’s caretaker. When the Manson Family members saw Parent pull up in his car, Watson attacked Parent with a knife before shooting him four times with a .22 caliber revolver.
Jay Sebring
Jay Sebring was the second victim at the Tate house murders. Sebring was 35 years old at the time of the murder, with him being a celebrity hairstylist. Jay Sebring, Sharon Tate, and Abigail Folger were brought to the living room, joining Wojciech Frykowski. Sebring and Tate were tied together by a nylon rope. Sebring protested the rought treatment of Tate, with Sebring then being sH๏τ and then stabbed seven times.
Wojciech Frykowski
Wojciech Frykowski was a 32-year-old friend of Roman Polanski, the husband of Sharon Tate. Wojciech was asleep on the living room couch when the Manson Family members entered the house. They awoke Wojciech and bound his hands with a towel as they brought the house’s inhabitants into the living room. Wojciech freed himself and fought Susan Atkins, who stabbed him several times. Wojciech ran to the front porch, where he was stabbed again and sH๏τ twice by Tex Watson. In total, he was stabbed 51 times and hit in the head with Watson’s gun 13 times.
Abigail Folger
Abigail Folger was Frykowski’s 25-year-old girlfriend, with her being the daughter of Peter Folger, the chairman of the board of Folgers Coffee Company. Folger gave the murderers $70 in an attempt to appease them. Folger eventually escaped to the pool area, where she was stabbed and tackled by Krenwinkel. Krenwinkel and Watson stabbed her 28 times.
Sharon Tate
The final victim of the murders at the Sharon Tate house was Sharon Tate herself. Sharon Tate was a 26-year-old actress who had starred Valley of the Dolls. Tate was married to director Roman Polanski and was eight and a half months pregnant at the time of the murder. Tate was attached to Sebring with a nylon rope. She was stabbed 16 times before being hung.
Leno LiBianca
The night after the Tate murders, the four Manson Family members were instructed to go to a house by Charles Manson. Manson met them there, with him pointing out the 44-year-old supermarket executive Leno LiBianca and his wife. Leno and his wife had pillow cases placed over their heads and were bound with electrical cords. Leno was stabbed by Watson with a bayonet, with him leaving to stab Leno’s wife before returning to stab Leno a total of 12 times.

Shea’s remains weren’t found until December 1977, with Grogan directing authorities to Shea’s remains.
Charles Manson & His Followers Were Connected To Many Other Murders
Although None Of Them Have Been Definitively Linked
Although only nine murders have been definitively linked to the Manson Family, a lot of other murders have been connected to the Manson Family. Did Charles Manson Ever Admit To The Murders?
He Implied His Involement In Prison
Many of the aforementioned murder cases are still complete mysteries, with the Manson Family and Charles Manson himself never admitting to involvement in the crimes. However, the Peacock docuseries Making Manson featured 20 years worth of new jailhouse recordings, in which Manson admits that he was involved in a few murders in Mexico. Here is one of the many quotes featured in the docuseries:
“I went to Acapulco, stole some cars. I just got involved in stuff over my head, man. Got involved in a couple of killings. I left my .357 Magnum in Mexico City, and I left some ᴅᴇᴀᴅ people on the beach.”
The truth of these claims hasn’t yet been verified, with no new murders being definitively linked to Manson. However, these information proves that there is still a lot to learn, and fans of Chaos: The Manson Murders may need to check out Making Manson.
