Where To Watch Wicked On Streaming

The live-action movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked was a hit in theaters and now fans want to enjoy the film on streaming services. 1939’s The Wizard of Oz is an iconic piece of movie history, and its continued notoriety led to the expansion of the world in various forms over the years. Following the popularity of Wicked as a stage musical for so many years, Universal developed a film adaptation. Despite its inspiration, Wicked is not connected to The Wizard of Oz in a traditional sense; instead, it serves as a companion piece with similarities and differences.

Wicked follows the early days of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariane Grande) as an unlikely friendship emerges before they become the powerful forces in Oz, the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North. Whether someone is a fan of the 1939 movie or the musical show, Wicked received strong praise and multiple nominations at the Oscars, Golden Globes, and other award shows. With Universal already completing Wicked: Part Two ahead of its November 2025 release, there are different opportunities to watch the first film at home.

Wicked Will Stream On Peacock First

It took a while for Universal Pictures to announce when Wicked‘s streaming release date would be, but it has finally been confirmed. Wicked will hit the Peacock streaming platform on March 21, 2025. Universal’s movies release on Peacock after 90 days on average, but its bigger IP тιтles – like Wicked – almost always wait about 120 days. This lines up with the late March arrival date.

Peacock offers two plans at different prices for new subscribers. There’s a $7.99 per month (or $79.99 per year) Premium level, which features ads and then the Premium Plus level at $13.99 per month (or $139.99 per year) which is ad-free and allows downloads of various shows and films.
