In 2024, the actor appeared in the Mark Wahlberg-led film, Arthur the King, which follows the true story of an adventure racing team traveling through the Dominican Republic who are unexpectedly joined by a wounded stray dog. Similar to Last Breath, Arthur the King earned a 97% audience score, showing that these types of stories have been successful for Liu.

However, the films that stick out are those with big IPs and real-life stories that make audiences feel something. With Shang-Chi 2 still stuck in development, more based-on-a-true-story movies could be a beneficial step forward for the actor.
At this time, Liu has a number of projects in the works. In terms of movies, the actor is slated to appear in the 2025 animated film, In Your Dreams, alongside Craig Robinson.
