Netflix Just Secretly Released A New Look At Happy Gilmore 2 In Season 3 Of A Returning Show

The anticipation for Happy Gilmore 2 is high, especially after one Netflix TV show sneakily featured new footage from the upcoming film. Up until now, Netflix hasn’t released many glimpses of the sequel (aside from a brief 30-second Happy Gilmore 2 trailer). However, the season 3 premiere of a documentary series on the streaming service provides a behind-the-scenes look at the second movie and spoils some of the film’s exciting cameos.

Although Netflix hasn’t announced a precise release date for Happy Gilmore 2, the upcoming sequel will reportedly premiere sometime in 2025.

Adam Sandler reprises his role as Happy Gilmore in the sequel to the popular sports comedy, almost three decades after the original movie debuted. Aside from Sandler, a handful of actors who starred in Happy Gilmore will return for the Netflix sequel — Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, and Ben Stiller as Hal L. In addition, many other celebrities are set to appear in Happy Gilmore 2, including numerous professional golfers.

Full Swing Season 3 Opens With Golfers Filming Cameos For Happy Gilmore 2

The Show’s First Look At Happy Gilmore 2 Features Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, & More Golfers

The premiere of Full Swing season 3 on Netflix excitingly features new behind-the-scenes footage from Happy Gilmore 2. The clips preview Adam Sandler filming scenes and interacting with the professional golfers on the set. Plus, the new look at the upcoming sequel confirms which athletes will make cameos in the movie.

Some of the above professional golfers will have bigger roles than others in Happy Gilmore 2. For example, the sneak peek of the sequel in the Full Swing season 3 premiere shows Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele filming a scene of them landing on their backs on a broken table (while wearing the iconic gold jackets from the first movie). Another clip includes Scottie Scheffler working with Christopher McDonald (aka Shooter McGavin) on the set of Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore sequel.

Happy Gilmore 2’s Cameo Tease Confirms The Sequel Is Bringing Back A Fun Aspect Of The Original

One of the best parts about Happy Gilmore was the appearances by renowned golfers (like Lee Trevino, who will also be in the sequel) and others connected to the sport (like sportscaster Verne Lundquist). It’s only right that the 2025 sequel brings back this fun aspect of the first movie. However, this time around, it seems like Happy Gilmore 2 will feature many more cameos, even of celebrities outside the golf world (Travis Kelce, Dan Patrick, etc.), generating more excitement around the film.
