Who’s Performing At The Oscars 2025: Every Confirmed Musical Guest

The 2025 Oscars are almost here, and a lot of talented performers will be making appearances at the 97th Academy Awards as musical guests. Every year, the Oscars feature all kinds of immensely famous individuals, with actors, directors, musicians, and other beloved celebrities showing up for the ceremony. While the awards are the main attraction at the Oscars, each year, the awards ceremony features a ton of live music performances, with many of the songs coming from the movies that have been nominated. While things are slightly different this year, here are all of the musical guests who will be at the Oscars.

While all kinds of awards shows populate awards season throughout the winter, the biggest spotlight is always on the Academy Awards. The 97th Academy Awards will be hosted by Conan O’Brien, a popular candidate in the lead up to his announcement. This year Oscars will be celebrating Best Picture nominees like Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, and more, as well as the nominees in a ton of other categories. The movies may be the reason for being there, but the music is one of the biggest parts of the show, with these musical guests making the show shine.

Wicked Stars Ariana Grande & Cynthia Erivo Will Perform At The Oscars

But It Isn’t Known What Song They’ll Be Singing

The Hollywood Reporter has already revealed information about what musical guests will be appearing at the Oscars, with two of the biggest being Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are the two stars of Wicked, with the former playing Glinda and the latter playing the film’s protagonist, Elphaba. The film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical is one of the main candidates at the Oscars, with Wicked being nominated for all kinds of awards, including Best Picture.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grande and Erivo will be kicking off the 97th Academy Awards, starting the night off strong. While it isn’t yet known what song the two Wicked stars will perform, it will undoubtedly be something from the movie. The Hollywood Reporter speculates that they will perform one of the songs that Elphaba and Glinda sing together in Wicked, such as “Popular,” “What is This Feeling?,” or the iconic “Defying Gravity.” This is one of the biggest mysteries surrounding this year’s Oscars, with many Wicked fans eagerly awaiting what live song they will get to hear the duo perform.

Other Musical Guests Are Also Confirmed For The Oscars 2025

Doja Cat, Lisa Of Blackpink, & More

While Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are two of the biggest stars to appear at the 2025 Oscars, they are far from the only musical guests who will appear at the show. The Hollywood Reporter has also claimed that Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, Queen Latifah, and Raye will be making an appearance as well. They will be performing a showcase that is meant to celebrate the filmmaking community, although very few details regarding what the show will be have been given. Here are The Hollywood Reporter‘s full comments on the matter:

In addition, Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and Raye are also set to take part in “showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends” during the Oscar telecast, according to the Academy. The show also will feature a special appearance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

As the report states, the Los Angeles Master Chorale will also be in attendance. The chorus is the resident companies of The Music Center and Walt Disney Concert Hall, making them a big get for the Oscars. The inclusion of these musical guests proves that the 2025 Oscars will be full of big performances from big figures in the music industry, making it an exciting night for fans of film and music.

The Oscars Aren’t Having The Best Original Song Nominees Perform Live This Year

Their Time Is Being Given To Something Else

Although there are already a lot of musical guests appearing at the Oscars this year, there is a surprising omission: the Best Original Song nominees. In previous years, the Academy Awards have had each of the Best Original Song nominees be performed live before the winner was announced, with this being one of the most exciting parts of the show. However, EW reports that this will not be happening this time, which may be disappointing for some fans of the songs.

According to EW, the Oscars have instead decided to dedicate the time that is typically focused on the Best Original Song performances to “acknowledging those who fought against the wildfires.” The Los Angeles wildfires have already changed the show before, and it seems that they will be having an impact on the musical performances at this year’s Oscars.
