Forget John Wick 5, This Is The Keanu Reeves Franchise That Needs Another Movie

There’s been a lot of speculation and excitement about John Wick 5, but there’s a different Keanu Reeves action movie franchise that’s crying out for a new sequel. The ending of John Wick: Chapter 4 seemed to pretty definitively kill any hope for a fifth movie. At the film’s climax, John successfully kills the Marquis in a duel and frees the High Table from his rule, but he takes a lethal gunsH๏τ in the process, and the final scene sees Winston and the Bowery King visiting John’s grave.

But since John has been known to survive a lot worse and his body was never actually shown being lowered into that grave, there are still plenty of theories that he may have faked his death. Even if the death sticks, John Wick 5 could send John to Hell and pit him against Satan’s army of demonic spirits. However, as much fun as it would be to see Reeves back in action in the bulletproof suit, there’s a different franchise he should go back to.

Speed 3 Needs To Happen (With Keanu Reeves Returning This Time)

Speed 2 Was Hopeless Without Reeves

Reeves’ 1994 action movie classic Speed needs a modern-day sequel, with Reeves himself returning this time. Speed stars Reeves as LAPD cop Jack Traven, who springs into action when a city bus is rigged with a bomb that will explode if its speed drops below 50mph. Sandra Bullock plays the put-upon civilian who’s forced to drive the bus when the driver is taken out of commission. As absurd as the premise sounds, it establishes clear stakes that keep the audience engaged from start to finish.

Speed technically got a sequel in 1997 called Speed 2: Cruise Control, but Reeves didn’t reprise his role as Jack (and the movie suffered for it).

Speed technically got a sequel in 1997 called Speed 2: Cruise Control, but Reeves didn’t reprise his role as Jack (and the movie suffered for it). Bullock reappeared in the sequel, but it was her chemistry with Reeves that made the original film so delightful; it wasn’t the same with her new co-star, Jason Patric. Now that Reeves is a bigger star than ever, Speed 3 needs to finally happen, reuniting Reeves and Bullock for another action-packed adventure on the streets of Los Angeles.

Keanu Reeves Has Been Revisiting His Iconic Characters – It’s Time For Jack Traven

After Matrix 4, Bill & Ted 3, & Constantine 2, Speed 3 Needs To Happen

In recent years, Reeves has been revisiting a bunch of his iconic characters. He reprised his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections, he reprised his role as Ted “Theodore” Logan in Bill & Ted Face the Music, and he’s set to reprise the тιтle role in a Constantine sequel. After all these long-awaited sequels, Keanu Reeves should finally bring back Jack and make another Speed movie. This one could be set on a runaway train or an ungroundable airplane running low on fuel.
