Alex Parkinson’s debut drama movie Last Breath is coming to theaters. The film is a dramatized version of Parkinson’s own acclaimed 2019 documentary about a deep-sea diving accident in the North Sea, in which professional diver Chris Lemons was left stranded on the seabed with little oxygen left to survive on. Peaky Blinders actor Finn Cole stars as Lemons, while Woody Harrelson and Simu Liu play his diving colleagues, Duncan Allcock and David Yuasa.
Last Breath promises to be a suffocating true-story survival thriller, pushing new boundaries for underwater cinematography as it captures the inhospitable environment in which its real-life protagonist found himself trapped. The movie should be visually stunning and terrifyingly suspenseful in equal measure. Parkinson seems best placed to translate his own experience reliving the horrors its characters went through in a dramatization that underscores the gravity of their situation, 330 feet underwater without the oxygen they need.

When Will Last Breath Release On Streaming?
Last Breath Should Be Available To Stream By Late Spring 2025
There’s no official streaming release date for Last Breath as yet, although distributors have penciled in its streaming release for Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Because the movie’s main distributor is Focus Features, a production company that’s part of NBCUniversal, it’s likely to end up on its streaming platform Peacock. On the other hand, Parkinson’s 2019 documentary Last Breath is currently streaming on Netflix, so the streaming giant could be willing to pay a premium for the dramatized version once it’s available, too.
When Will Last Breath Release On Digital?
The Movie Could Be Available On Video-On-Demand Services By Late March
According to the provisional plans currently in place, Last Breath is set to appear on video-on-demand platforms as soon as Wednesday, March 26, 2025. However, if the movie does better than expected at the box office, it’s possible that this date will be pushed back to allow its exclusive theatrical run to continue for several additional weeks.
