Charlie Cox has commented on Daredevil‘s chances of being part of the next two Avengers movies. Cox became one of the most beloved live-action Marvel stars by leading Netflix’s Daredevil for three seasons. After he returned to the role in 2021, following the original show’s cancellation, Cox has already been racking up appearances as Matt Murdock in the MCU. Leading Daredevil: Born Again‘s cast is the next step in that journey, but definitely not the last. With the whole MCU now available for the hero, future Marvel movies like the Multiverse Saga’s Avengers entries could include Daredevil.
Speaking with GQ UK, Charlie Cox said that Daredevil joining the Avengers is now more possible than ever. The MCU star would love to return to the movie side of the franchise after appearing in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox explained it is due to two reasons, with one being how much of a Daredevil fan he has become over the years, so seeing Daredevil’s MCU journey be taken to the highest level would be exciting. The other is due to how the Avengers movies could lead to more film opportunities for the star outside the MCU. Check out the full quote below:
“I think it’s more possible than it’s ever been, yeah. I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that. For a couple of reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade.
I would also just love it in terms of what it would do for my chances of getting other movie roles.”
What Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Avengers Movie Comments Mean
The MCU Star Wants To Take The Next Step
Cox has shown on TV that he has what it takes to lead projects as Daredevil. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, he had a small amount of time to show off his skills as Matt Murdock on the big screen. However, the actor’s brief cameo ended up becoming one of the MCU movie’s most talked about moments. That shows that Daredevil is a character who Marvel can do a lot with on the film side of the franchise. Based on the actor’s comments, he cannot wait to do just that.
When he was starring in Netflix’s The Defenders Saga, mainstream MCU projects did not include or reference the Defenders. However, everything has changed. That is why Cox believes that Daredevil now has more chances than ever to be part of the MCU’s upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars. Since the actor’s most famous roles come from TV shows, it also makes sense that Cox wants to branch out into movies to diversify his career. A prominent role as Daredevil in what should be two of the biggest films of all time could very well make that happen.
Our Take On Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Avengers Movie Comments
The Multiverse Saga Needs More Daredevil
One of the main problems of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga is how characters have gone years without appearing. Thankfully, Daredevil escapes that negative trend, with the character showing up in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, 2024’s Echo, and soon in 2025’s Daredevil: Born Again. Cox could continue his MCU streak with appearances in the next Avengers movies over the next couple of years. This would make him one of the franchise’s most consistent stars. As Cox said, I believe that Daredevil‘s Avengers movie chances are high, and Marvel Studios has shown how important he is.
