The MCU Has The Perfect Opportunity To Adapt The Avengers’ Most Unhinged Stark Tower Upgrade According To Major Marvel Theory

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Captain America: Brave New World. The Avengers now have the perfect new headquarters after the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest release. The main superhero team in the MCU started their time together operating out of a SHIELD helicarrier, later moving to Stark Tower, which was turned into Avengers Tower. The MCU’s Avengers movies would not all feature the iconic location, as the team moved to the Avengers Compound at the end of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, with it serving as the main hub for the team in the Avengers’ two following films.

After a long time with no new releases in the team’s franchise, two Avengers movies are set to end the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. Avengers: Doomsday‘s story will likely be in charge of positioning a new headquarters for the team. After all, Thanos destroyed the Avengers Compound during Avengers: Endgame‘s final battle. Without Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, the Avengers might not have as many resources available. Thunderbolts* trailers have also revealed that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine bought and gave Avengers Tower a makeover. However, a key new MCU location could serve as the team’s base.

Eternals’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Celestial Returns In Captain America: Brave New World

The First MCU Movie Of 2025 Finally Answers A Franchise Mystery

With so many projects released during the Multiverse Saga, the MCU has gone years without following up on certain characters and events. Due to how much the movie was criticized, Eternals was one of the projects that Marvel did not do much with after its release. However, Captain America: Brave New World finally answered the mystery of what the impact of the giant ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Celestial in the Indian Ocean would be. The movie ended up making it one of the main elements of its story.

Marvel Studios revealed that Adamantium, a rare metal that is stronger than Vibranium and is closely connected to Wolverine in the comics, is the material Tiamut is made of. After fighting to see which nation would get to explore the new resource, Harrison Ford’s President Thaddeus Ross got the other countries to sign a peace treaty and share the rights to establish research facilities on Celestial Island and mine the precious metal. Being the MCU’s source of Adamantium just before the X-Men arrive, Celestial Island is destined to play a major role in the franchise.

Avengers: Doomsday Could Pull A Page From The Comics For The Team’s New Headquarters

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Need A New Base Of Operations

Avengers Mountain sticks out of ice in the north pole.

After the destruction of Avengers Compound, the new iteration of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes needs a new home. That is how Celestial Island could return. In Marvel Comics, Avengers Mountain is one of the more recent headquarters for the team, and it so happens to be the body of a deceased Celestial. Instead of Tiamut, the comics’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Celestial is called the Progenitor, with the headquarters being located in the North Pole, not the Indian Ocean, as happens in the MCU. Aside from those changes, the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Celestial’s use could be the same.

Captain America: Brave New World ends with Sam Wilson telling Joaquin Torres that he will put a new Avengers team together. After spending an entire movie dealing with the ramifications of Celestial Island and the discovery of Adamantium there, Sam is well aware of all the Celestial has to offer. While it could take some work to convince other nations to allow the Avengers to use Celestial Island as the team’s headquarters, the fact that the base would be made out of Adamantium, thus making it extremely fortified, is just the kind of thing the Avengers need moving forward.
