Companion Digital & 4K Blu-Ray Release Dates Revealed

The digital and 4K release dates have been revealed for Companion. Companion is a 2025 horror comedy about a couple whose vacation at a remote but extravagant home goes wrong when one of their hosts is murdered. The trailer revealed one of the film’s big twists — that the girlfriend, Iris, in the main couple, is actually a robot, but the film has plenty of other twists and turns along the way. Companion features a leading cast including Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.

Now, Warner Bros. has revealed Companion‘s digital release date. The film will have its digital debut on Tuesday, February 18. This will be followed by a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release date, which will come on April 1. Those who buy one of these formats of Companion will have access to three special features enтιтled “I Feel, Therefore I Am,” “Love, Eli,” and “AI Horror” which will explore the film’s themes and the key character relationships.

What This Means For Companion

Companion Will Have A Short Theatrical Run

Companion was released domestically on January 31, giving the movie just three weekends of theatrical exclusivity before hitting digital. In that time, the movie had a respectable showing at the box office. Companion received positive reviews and made $33.2 million worldwide, which is a decent return on its estimated $10 million budget. Given this box office traction, it is reasonable to guess that Companion might also pull good numbers during its digital release.

Companion still has a relatively quick digital release, however. Big studios seem to be giving films shorter and shorter theatrically exclusive windows overall, and this year has been no exception. Sony’s One of Them Days had just four weekends in theaters before it was moved to digital. As in the case of Companion, this was despite the film performing well at the box office. This shows that studios are not prioritizing theatrical exclusivity as much as they used to, even for movies that are profitable.

Our Take On Companion’s Digital Release Date

Companion Has Horror Compeтιтion

Olivia Holt's Ally screams beside a knife in Heart Eyes trailer

Looking more broadly at the release calendar, Companion‘s move to digital makes a lot of sense. The Valentine’s Day-themed horror film Heart Eyes was released in theaters on February 7, and managed to beat out Companion both weekends that it was at the box office. The Osgood Perkins horror movie The Monkey is also coming at the end of this week, which would be another competing horror film for Companion. For this reason, the Companion team is likely making the right call by getting the movie onto digital now.
