Cleaner features Daisy Ridley as an unlikely action hero who must save the day when no one else can. In Daisy Ridley’s latest non-Star Wars role, she plays window cleaner Joey Locke, who was trained in the military before being dishonorably discharged. When hostages, including her older brother, are taken during an energy company’s gala, and the building is under threat of being destroyed, Joey is the only one on the inside who has a chance of standing up to the violent extremists.

Cleaner is directed by Martin Campbell, who previously directed numerous James Bond movies. Campbell further expands his repertoire of directing action thriller films with the Die Hard-inspired Cleaner. In addition to Ridley, the cast includes Academy Award nominee Clive Owen as the antagonist, Marcus Blake, and Taz Skylar as fellow window cleaner Noah. Quiver Distribution gave Cleaner a February 21, 2025 release date to kick off the movie’s theatrical run. While Cleaner‘s premise feels like it could be a summer blockbuster, the R-rated action movie with a one hour and 36 minute runtime is releasing in theaters at a time that is traditionally less compeтιтive. The film has a limited theatrical release and will only be playing in select theaters.

When Will Cleaner Release On Streaming?

Quiver Distribution Makes The Streaming Release Unclear

It is unclear when Cleaner will be available to stream due to it being a Quiver Distribution movie. Some past Quiver Distribution movies, such as First Shift, were released in theaters and via streaming on the same day. Other Quiver Distribution movies, including Irena’s Vow and A Mistake debuted in theaters and only came to streaming later. Irena’s Vow was released in theaters on April 15, 2024 and began streaming on May 14. A Mistake‘s theatrical run began on June 7 and was not available to stream until September 20.

Cleaner‘s digital release date is also unclear as a film under Quiver Distribution. Digital release dates often occur in advance of a movie coming to a streaming platform.
