Mortal Kombat 2 Is Getting The Most Important Thing About Johnny Cage Right 28 Years After His Last Movie Appearance

After teasing him at the end of the first film, it is a relief that Mortal Kombat 2 seems to be getting the most important thing about Johnny Cage right. 2021’s Mortal Kombat was an unpredictable movie, as it was centered on a new character, Cole Young, rather than the franchise’s usual protagonist, Liu Kang. 2021’s Mortal Kombat largely deviated from the traditional stories told in Mortal Kombat video games. Instead of focusing on a Mortal Kombat tournament, the film instead followed Cole and his allies as they unlocked their arcanas, which gave them powers.

Even though the 2021 film made a lot of changes, it still featured many of the most popular Mortal Kombat characters. Characters like Sonya Blade, Jax, Raiden, and Liu Kang all worked with Cole Young throughout the film. Additionally, other characters, such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, and Goro, were also included in the film. However, the 2021 movie shockingly didn’t include Johnny Cage, one of the best Mortal Kombat characters. Thankfully, this will be remedied in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2, as Johnny Cage will likely play a prominent role in the sequel.

Mortal Kombat 2’s Marketing Campaign Can Have A Lot Of Fun With Johnny Cage

Johnny Cage Is Perhaps The Funniest Mortal Kombat Character

Johnny Cage is not necessarily supposed to be a joke all the time in Mortal Kombat, but he should often be unaware of how ridiculous he is acting. Especially when he is first introduced, Johnny Cage should treat the Mortal Kombat tournament as a joke and be overly confident that he can handle any opponents. Therefore, Urban’s look as Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2 proves that the movie will not be holding back on the character’s stress-free atтιтude, which often leads to him being in very dangerous situations.

By showcasing more posters and potentially even trailers of his fictionalized movies, the marketing team for Mortal Kombat 2 could have a lot of fun with Johnny Cage.
