3000 year old; Rock Carvings (Petroglyphs) found at Tanum, Sweden. These are some of largest rocks of Nordic Bronze Age petroglyphs in Scandinavia.
In total there are thousands of images called Tanum petroglyphs, on about 600 panels within World Heritage Area. Scandinavian Bronze Age and Iron Age people were sophisticated craftsmen and very competent travelers by water.
Many of glyphs depict boats of which some seem to be of Hjortspring boat type carrying around a dozen pᴀssengers. Wagons or carts are also depicted. Other glyphs depict, a man running away from what seems to be a big snake. Humans with a bow, spear or axe, and others depict hunting scenes.
