Michael B. Jordan Reacts To Jonathan Majors’ “Resilience” During Legal Trouble, Is Open To More Collaboration Following Creed 3

Creed star Michael B. Jordan expresses his support for Jonathan Majors amid the latter’s legal challenges. The duo previously collaborated on Creed III, which Jordan directed and starred in as Adonis Creed. Majors portrayed Damian Anderson, an old friend turned enemy in the ring. As a continuation of the Rocky story, the spin-off series has been a major blockbuster darling since the release of Creed in 2015, with Creed III amᴀssing a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In a recent interview with GQ, Jordan commended Majors for his resilience and strength following his 2023 ᴀssault trial. In 2023, Majors was put on trial for ᴀssault allegations and was eventually convicted and sentenced to one year of rehabilitative counseling. Since then, the actor has been dropped from numerous projects, including a role with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked if he would work with Majors again, Jordan affirmed, “Yes. Yes.” He further stated:

I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.

What Michael B. Jordan’s Support Means

Majors’ legal troubles have had major consequences for his once-rising career. Following his arrest in March 2023 on domestic violence allegations, Majors faced trial and was convicted in December 2023 of two misdemeanor counts: reckless ᴀssault in the third degree and harᴀssment. The case stemmed from an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. As a result of his conviction, Majors was sentenced to one year of domestic violence counseling in April 2024.

Following standout performances in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the fallout of Majors’ career was swift and severe. Marvel Studios, which had positioned him as Kang the Conqueror, the next major villain of the MCU, cut ties with him, leading to the Robert Downey Jr.-led Avengers: Doomsday. Searchlight Pictures also dropped the release of Magazine Dreams, a film with Majors that had been poised as an awards contender but was picked up by another studio.

Jordan’s endorsement of Majors comes at a pivotal moment when the actor is attempting to rebuild his career. Given Jordan’s influence and credibility as both an actor and director, his words may help shape how studios perceive Majors moving forward. With Magazine Dreams reviews praising the actor’s performance, there is hope for a potential comeback. Jordan’s willingness to collaborate with Majors again could signal to the industry that there is still space for him in Hollywood, despite his past mistakes.

Our Take On Jonathan Majors’ Future In Creed 4

A Possible Return To The Franchise

Jonathan Majors in Magazine Dreams

With Creed IV officially confirmed, Majors could have an opportunity to return as Damian. Despite his conviction, his performance in Creed III was well received, and the character is still due for a redemption arc. If Jordan is serious about working with him again, the Creed franchise might offer Majors a path back into major studio productions. However, it remains to be seen whether studios and audiences will be receptive to his return.
