The DC Universe’s Batman Family Gets Fully Cast With Complete Costumes In The Brave And The Bold Concept Poster

The Brave and The Bold movie brings the Bat-Family into James Gunn’s DC Universe, as multiple actors suit up as the iconic DC Comics superheroes in a new concept poster. While the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” slate is still in the early stages, a Batman reboot is on its way in the form of The Brave and The Bold, which will reimagine the Dark Knight for DC Studios. Even though The Brave and The Bold casting has yet to begin, it’s not stopping fans from proposing who should play the iconic heroes of Gotham City.

With Andy Muschietti set to direct The Brave and The Bold, time will tell when the DCU audience will start hearing about who will actually be part of the cast. In the meantime, John Regan shared new artwork for The Brave and The Bold, with suggestions for several actors who could be cast as both the Dark Knight and allies from the Bat-Family. Check it out below:

The Brave and The Bold concept poster features fan-favorite choice Brandon Sklenar as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman, along with Asher Angel as Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing, Louis Partridge as Jason Todd a.k.a. Red Hood, Sadie Sink as Barbara Gordon a.k.a. Batgirl, along with Bryan Cranston as James Gordon, and Richard E. Grant as Alfred Pennyworth. For the role of Damian Wayne, who will be Robin in the DCU, the DCU artwork proposed Casper Knopf as the son of Bruce and Talia al Ghul.

What The Brave And The Bold Art Means For The DCU’s Batman Reboot

Since it has been teased by Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran that some Bat-Family members will be appearing in The Brave and The Bold movie, the concept art makes it clear that many fans are already getting behind the idea of seeing a version of Batman who is already surrounded by his many famous allies. Given how most Batman franchises have depicted Bruce as a solo hero, with the exception of Joel Schumacher’s critically mixed films in the 1990s, the DCU is finally moving away from that concept.

While Batman is, without doubt, one of DC’s biggest characters of all time, there are so many heroes in his mythology that have helped expand his world over the last couple of decades. With the many Robins and Batgirls that have come and gone in the comics, there is a lot of character history that the DCU can lean into through The Brave and The Bold and beyond. Most of Batman’s supporting players haven’t had their cinematic due yet, which is why the direction for the Bat-Family in the DCU is already something many are excited about.

Our Take On The Brave And The Bold Art

Comic book art: Batman in the center of the extended Bat-Family.

It’s great to see the variety of characters that could be part of The Brave and The Bold movie through the concept poster, and it will be exciting to hear which members will actually end up in Batman’s first DCU installment. With The Brave and The Bold set to be one of the most different Batman movies of all time, the potential is endless for where the characters can go after. Hopefully, as the DCU gets further in, DC Studios will start to give more updates on The Brave and The Bold, including when casting is expected to start.
