The overlap with these years would seem to be a strong indicator of McConaughey’s potential role, but it is possible that the actor could instead play an amalgamation of multiple historical figures.
It has been five years since Greengrᴀss has directed anything, with his last project being the Civil War drama News of the World in 2020. The director often works with docudrama and historical subjects, but The Rage will be the furthest back he has ever gone in history. As exciting as it will be to see another Greengrᴀss film, I think it is even more notable to see McConaughey’s return to high-caliber cinema. In recent years, the actor has gone back to some of his lighter parts, like voicing Buster Moon in Sing 2 or Cowboypool in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine.
