Ke Huy Quan To Star As A Serial Killer In Horror Movie From The Perspective Of His Loyal Dog

Ke Huy Quan is set to star in the upcoming horror movie Bad Boy, an innovative thriller told entirely from the perspective of his loyal dog. Directed by Jacob Chase (Come Play) and written by Travis Braun, the film is being produced by Longlegs‘ Dave Caplan alongside M3GAN producers Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath. Filming is set to begin in August in Canada, bringing a fresh twist to horror with a story from the eyes of a man’s best friend.

According to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, the Everything Everywhere All at Once star Quan will play the ᴅᴇᴀᴅly serial killer, Cameron. The film follows Gary, a devoted terrier who adores his owner, Cameron, and enjoys treats, belly rubs, and companionship. However, Gary remains oblivious to the dark secrets lurking beneath the surface—secrets hidden in the basement, where a young woman (Lili Reinhart) is being held captive.

What Ke Huy Quan In Bad Boy Means

Quan’s Hollywood Comeback Takes A Dark Turn

The upcoming horror film Bad Boy continues the momentum behind the Ke Huy Quan renaissance, as the beloved ’80s actor—known for The Goonies and Indiana Jones—experienced a cultural resurgence after his award-winning performance in the acclaimed drama Everything Everywhere All At Once. He also recently led the upcoming action-comedy Love Hurts as a hitman turned realtor, set to release in February, further cementing his return to Hollywood prominence. Bad Boy offers the actor an opportunity to play a chilling role with a pleasant disposition that allows him to get away with murder.

By telling its story from a dog’s point of view, Bad Boy offers a unique perspective that’s rarely explored in the horror genre. This approach not only creates an intense sense of suspense since Gary can’t fully understand the horror unfolding around him but also continues a growing trend in horror. Films like Steven Soderbergh’s Presence and the Christopher Abbott-led Wolf Man have subverted traditional narratives to offer something both compelling and psychologically intricate, demonstrating the power of alternative viewpoints in building tension. Bad Boy has the potential to push this concept even further.
