Warning! Spoilers for Kinda Pregnant ahead!
Netflix’s Kinda Pregnant features a jam-packed soundtrack, with contributions from artists like Madonna, M.I.A., Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and more. The 2025 romantic comedy movie stars Amy Schumer as Lainy, a woman who wants nothing more than to get pregnant and become a mom. However, at 40 years old, Lainy is far from achieving this. Things really fall apart when her best friend Kate (Jillian Bell) becomes pregnant. Lainy takes to wearing a fake pregnant belly in response, and her story in Kinda Pregnant is all outrageous comedy from there—accompanied by a great soundtrack, of course.
Kinda Pregnant is directed by Tyler Spindel and is produced by Schumer, Adam Sandler, and Molly Sims, among others. The Netflix rom-com features a musical score by Rupert Gregson-Williams, who has worked on projects like Aquaman (2018), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023), Back to the Outback (2021), and The Union (2024). In addition to Gregson-William’s original songs, Kinda Pregnant utilizes several pop, rock, and rap songs to guide audiences through Lainy’s wild story of false maternity and romance.

When Every Song On The Kinda Pregnant Soundtrack Plays In The Movie
Each Song In The Order They Play
“Express Yourself” by Madonna – Kinda Pregnant opens with a scene of Lainy and Kate as kids playing on the playground together. Lainy’s eventual ruse is foreshadowed by the fact that she is pretending that her doll is giving birth and aggressively reminding her friend that having a baby is the best thing anyone can do. As Lainy expresses herself, the song “Express Yourself” by Madonna fitting plays in the background.
“Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman – At her boyfriend Dave’s (Damon Wayans Jr) request, Lainy went to his apartment to get his watch and get cleaned up before their big date. The song “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman sets the tone for Lainy’s excitement, especially since she mentions how eager she is to decorate Dave’s expensive apartment once they are engaged.
“A N X I E T Y (feat. Doechii)” by Sleepy Hallow – Lainy’s anniversary date with Dave didn’t go well, and she began to take it out on her students in Kinda Pregnant. She had lost her appreciation for Shakespearean romance and decided to set the coursework on fire in her classroom trashcap as the song “ANXIETY” by Sleepy Hallows (featuring Doechii) plays. This number continues as the school is evacuated.
“Gasoline Dreams” by Outkast with Khujo Goodie – The song “Gasoline Dreams” by Outkast and Khujo Goodie plays in Kinda Pregnant when Lainy accidentally sets her pregnant belly on fire at Megan’s (Brianne Howey) house. It continues to play as she desperately attempts to fix the damage with bandaids in the bathroom without anyone noticing that her “baby” is really just a pillow and velcro.
“Handsome” by Winnetka Bowling League – Lainy’s date with Josh (Will Forte) was a smash hit in Kinda Pregnant, and the tone of their time at the ice skating rink was perfectly established by the accompanying song, “Handsome” by Winnetka Bowling League. The tune plays as they skate together and fill one another in on the details of their lives.
“Slow Motion” by Juvenile featuring Soulja Slim – During their date, Lainy asked Josh if he could do anything really cool at his job at the ice skating rink. Josh proved that he could by showing her his Zambini-driving skills to the beat of “Slow Motion” by Juvenile (featuring Soulja Slim). As he did this, Schumer’s Lainy gave a little on-ice dancing performance of her own.
“Delincuente” by Tokischa, Anuel AA & Ñengo Flow – Lainy and Josh’s next date took them to a club on the open water. The first song that the seemingly pregnant Schumer and oblivious Forte danced to was “Delincuente” by Tokischa, Anuel AA, and Ñengo Flow.
“Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand)” by Irma Thomas – The floating night club in Kinda Pregnant slowed things down with the song “Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand) by Irma Thomas. Lainy and Josh shared a romantic slow dance together—until Dave appeared.
“The One” by M.I.A. – The song “The One” by M.I.A. plays during the transition between Lainy and Megan’s time at the seminar and the subway ride home. As the music plays out, Lainy notices the teenager she had met before, who is, this time, wearing a pregnant belly as well.
“Sєx With Me” by Rihanna – Kinda Pregnant features a bizarre Sєx scene, during which Schumer’s Lainy attempts to lower herself onto Josh’s blindfolded face. As they have this blind, intimate moment, Rihanna’s “Sєx With Me” plays out.
“You Send Me” by Sam Cooke – After having Sєx in the accidentally open garage, Lainy and Josh enjoy a moment together in yard chairs, holding hands. This is accompanied by the song “You Send Me” by Sam Cooke. Unfortunately, the romance comes to an end when Lainy begins to feel guilty for her deception and walks out.
“At Seventeen” by Janis Ian – Lainy was heartbroken at the way her lie was revealed to her friends, and this led to a sad walk through New York City accompanied by the song “At Seventeen” by Janis Ian. This continues to play until Lainy arrives at Megan’s house to ask forgiveness.
“Long Time” (Acoustic) by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – After Josh refuses to forgive her, Lainy does her best to get back to life. This leads to a montage near Kinda Pregnant‘s ending, during which Lainy is seen holding Kate’s hand as she gives birth and gets back to teaching her students about self-love. The song “Long Time” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts sets the mood as these scenes play out.
“Take a Chance on Me” by AWOLNATION & Jewel – Just as Lainy thought that Josh had forgotten about her, he comes riding up to her school on his Zamboni at the end of Kinda Pregnant. He does this to the catchy beat of “Take a Chance on Me” by AWOLNATION and Jewel, which continues to play as Josh and Lainy kiss and ride away on the Zamboni together.
“Bam Bam” by Henry Fong & Sister Nancy – After Josh and Lainy smash through a market on their Zamboni, Kinda Pregnant transitions to the credits, at which point the song “Bam Bam” by Henry Fong and Sister Nancy plays.
