What The Woman In Cabin 10 Image Means For The Movie
It Has An Intriguing Premise
The first look at The Woman in Cabin 10, featuring Knightley’s journalist investigating a potential murder on a cruise ship, highlights its intriguing premise. Evidenced by Agatha Christie’s classic mysteries, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, a train or a cruise ship is an inherently interesting setting for a murder mystery. A cruise ship isolates the suspects in a confined space, with nowhere for them to run or hide, effectively heightening the tension over the course of the story.
The Woman in Cabin 10 also continues the trend of Netflix psychological thrillers using “The Woman in…” тιтle format. Netflix’s The Woman in the Window, starring Amy Adams, started the trend in 2021, following an agoraphobic woman who witnesses a crime in her neighbor’s apartment, boasting a similar tagline, “She has nothing to prove what’s real.” Netflix’s own laboriously тιтled miniseries, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, even parodied these types of mystery psychological thrillers.
Our Take On The Woman In Cabin 10 Image
Keira Knightley Returns To Netflix
Keira Knightley recently starred as a spy in Netflix’s thriller series Black Doves, marking her first live-action TV show in years, and now, she has reunited with the streamer for another thriller. Black Doves was a mᴀssive critical and commercial success for the streamer, which bodes well for Knightley’s next Netflix vehicle. While this should ensure that it will at least be another hit, whether The Woman In Cabin 10 can avoid some of its genre’s well-established tropes remains to be seen.
