A Godzilla fan-made video reveals the “canonical explanation” for how the famed kaiju stands above the ocean in so many different iterations. Throughout over 70 years of movies, Godzilla has always been shown to stand in the ocean, oftentimes doing so at depths that, despite his size, he shouldn’t be able to stand at. This has been seen in everything from Legendary’s Monsterverse movies, to the end of Godzilla Minus One, standing in ocean depths that are much too deep for his size. This has become somewhat a staple of his character due to its frequency.
Now, Pasko Boyoh has created a video offering a “canonical explanation” as to why the Godzilla movies show the тιтular monster standing above the ocean. The video shows the kaiju walking across the ocean floor in silver high heels, which give him a boost reminiscent of the many times he’s risen out of the water. The video’s caption also crowns him “King of High heels,” giving him a new тιтle aside from King of the Monsters. Check out Pasko Boyoh’s full video below:

What Godzilla’s Fan-Made Video Says About How He Stands Above The Ocean
A Comedic Interpretation Of An Interesting Question
The famous kaiju wearing high heels is a comedic interpretation of how he’s always able to stand above the water, but also begs the question as to how he’s really able to do it. While Godzilla’s height has fluctuated across history, his shortest was at 164 feet in Godzilla Minus One, while his tallest was 394 feet in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. However, there have been multiple instances across his movies where the depth of the water he wades into or stands in doesn’t match up.
The easiest explanation would be that he treads water in deep areas, his size giving off the illusion that he’s actually standing up. However, instances like when he clearly stands in water that’s hundreds of feet deep during Godzilla: King of the Monsters, meaning this can’t always be the case. Perhaps he gets lucky every time he wants to stand up in the water, managing to stand on rocky structures under the ocean that can’t be seen. Whatever the case, it’s part of his character’s history, possibly something the upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel will continue to address as well.
Our Take On Godzilla’s Ability To Stand In Water That’s Too Deep
It’s Just Another Staple Of His Character
Pasko Boyoh’s interpretation of how the kaiju stands so high above the water is hilarious, and also shows just how much the joke is now ᴀssociated with the character. While future Godzilla films may not feature it as much as anticipated, with only two major instances in the last several years, it’s still something to be on the lookout for when a new entry arrives. For now, however, the video offers a comedic alternative viewpoint of how he’s able to stand so high up in water that’s clearly too deep.
