Scarlett Johansson & Jonathan Bailey Tamper With Dino Eggs In New Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Image

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth
gets a new image showing off Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey’s characters tampering with dinosaur eggs. After the major box office success of Jurᴀssic World Dominion in 2022, the hit Jurᴀssic Park reboot franchise is set to return with a new movie from director Gareth Edwards (The Creator). Johansson leads the Jurᴀssic World Rebirth cast as Zora Bennett, the leader of an expedition into dangerous, dino-heavy territory to retrieve crucial DNA for a medical breakthrough, with Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Ed Skrein, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo also starring.

The official Jurᴀssic World Instagram account now shares a new image from the movie, providing a better look at Zora and Bailey’s Dr. Henry Loomis. The image features the two characters in what appears to be an ancient South American structure, with Loomis holding up a large dinosaur egg as Zora looks on in awe. Check out the image below:

What The New Image Means For Jurᴀssic World Rebirth

Rebirth Will Be Different From Dominion

While a Jurᴀssic World Rebirth trailer hasn’t yet arrived, the film has been teased as a back-to-basics approach for the franchise. Jurᴀssic World Dominion ends with dinosaurs roaming freely across the Earth and living side-by-side with humans, and the next movie is seemingly focusing on a more specific story and a smaller group of characters.

According to Edwards, per Empire, this approach “goes back to what [he] loves about the original.” He also called the movie a “giant love letter to Steven Spielberg” in an interview with EW, comparing it to Jaws (1975). With original Jurᴀssic Park writer David Koepp having penned the script, and the images thus far, including the one above, teasing a focus on high-tension set pieces rather than bombastic sequences of destruction, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is shaping up to be an interesting pivot back to an earlier era for the franchise.

Koepp also worked with Spielberg on movies like The Lost World: Jurᴀssic Park (1997), War of the Worlds (2005), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

More Promotional Materials Could Be On The Way

With the Jurᴀssic World Rebirth release date set for July 2, 2025, marketing for the movie should start to kick into gear next month. Approximately six months out is usually when a trailer will arrive for a major blockbuster, meaning one could be only a few weeks away for Edwards’ new film.

The new image from the movie doesn’t reveal too much, but the scene does appear to be entirely practical, with a real set instead of blue screen. Obviously, CGI is a major part of bringing any Jurᴀssic Park movie to life, but grounding the action and the story in an environment that feels real could be a great way to increase the intensity and return to the franchise’s roots. While many questions remain about Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, audiences are probably in for more reveals about the movie in the near future.
