When Will Scream 6 Release On Streaming?

If you’re looking for a frightfully delightful horror movie, you will want to know where to watch Scream VI, the latest installment in the popular Scream franchise. With Scream VII set to be released in 2026, fans might want to catch up with the series, making it the perfect time to watch or rewatch the sixth film before it comes out. Ever since the first movie’s release in 1996, the Scream franchise has proven to be a great success among horror fans.

The Scream franchise has branched into six films, a television series, and video games. After a break in 2011, Scream returned to the silver screen in 2022. Successfully rebooting the franchise with Scream V, and earning over $138 million at the worldwide box office, Scream VI earned nearly $170 million, just under the first two films in the franchise. Taking place in New York City and with Neve Campbell noticeably absent for the first time, Scream VI was a fascinating direction for the franchise to take, and one that deserves to be seen.

Where To Stream Scream VI

It’s Available On Paramount+ & Netflix

For those looking to watch Scream VI, the movie is currently available to stream on Paramount +. There are two options for a subscription to the streaming service. One is the standard tier, which is $7.99/month, and the second option includes a Showtime add-on and no ads except on live TV for $12.99/month. Whatever option subscribers goes with, Paramount + has a solid lineup of movies and shows to watch.

Alongside Paramount +, Scream VI is also on Netflix, which is the much more popular streaming service, giving the sixth film in the franchise the biggest possible audience to watch it while the studio begins work on Scream VII. Netflix tends to cycle through other studio’s movies and shows frequently, which means now is the time to watch Scream VI on there.

What Is Scream VI All About?

The Sixth Installment Takes Place In New York & Is The First Movie Not To Feature Neve Campbell

Sam, Tara, Mindy, Chad, Danny, and Ethan in Scream 6

Taking place one year after the Woodsboro killings of the fifth film, the four main survivors have moved to New York City to try to establish a new life and cope with what they have endured. Twins Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin start college, Tara Carpenter rebels and parties in the hopes of pretending nothing happened, while her sister Sam struggles with the fact that she is the biological daughter of Billy Loomis, the original Ghostface.

Soon, a new Ghostface arrives in the Big Apple, determined to continue the killings that started in Scream V. As the new Ghostface begins staking their murderous claim, the four must put their fears behind them if they want to survive, complete with all the meta-commentary, bloody kills, and the suspicious new characters that the franchise is known for.

Scream VI is actually unique with its Ghostface, having something that has never been done before in the franchise.

Alongside the cast of characters that became the new focus of the franchise in Scream V, Courteney Cox returns once more as Gale Weathers, moving past the death of Dewey in the previous film. Perhaps the biggest change to the entire film franchise is Neve Campbell absent from Scream VI due to a salary dispute. She’ll return for Scream VII, making the sixth film all the more unique among the rest of the series.
