Back In Action Trailer: Cameron Diaz & Jamie Foxx Are Spies Turned Parents Who Find Themselves On Another Mission

The official trailer for Netflix’s Back in Action has debuted. The action comedy follows two former CIA spies, Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx), who are unexpectedly thrust back into their lives of espionage. Emily and Matt’s children, Alice (McKenna Roberts) and Leo (Rylan Jackson), are also in danger and must grapple with the fact that their seemingly boring parents are highly trained spies. Back in Action is Cameron Diaz’s first movie since 2014.

Netflix has now released the official trailer that provides a closer look at the incident in which Emily and Matt’s pasts come back to haunt them. They are attacked while at a gas station with their children and are forced to resort to their old training, which includes Matt using a gas pump as a flamethrower and Emily taking down ᴀssailants through hand-to-hand combat. The trailer also reveals that Glenn Close is playing Emily’s mother, who appears to have a history in the world of espionage, and Andrew Scott plays the villain pursuing Emily and Matt. What This Means For Back In Action

It Is A Triumphant, Humorous, And Action-Packed Return For Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx look concerned in Back in Action

The equally fun and thrilling Back in Action trailer creates further anticipation for Diaz’s first movie in years. There is already a delightful balance between genuinely humorous comedy and riveting action that makes the movie look like a highly appealing watch. While Diaz and Foxx are the main draws for the film, the focus on their characters’ children is also enticing, ensuring that the story is more than action and comedy, but also has family at the heart of it.

Back in Action is directed by Horrible Bosses‘ Seth Gordon.

The premise of a seemingly normal family, where the children learn that their parents are spies, is somewhat reminiscent of Spy Kids‘ Cortez family. The idea of a family rooted in a history of espionage is expanded with Emily’s mother being a part of the spy world as well. A key difference from Spy Kids is that the parents, Emily and Matt, will consistently remain at the forefront of the story and the family will stay together instead of being separated.

Our Take On The Back In Action Trailer

It Is Great To See Cameron Diaz And Jamie Foxx Onscreen Again

It is exciting to see Diaz back in action again, especially alongside Foxx in this Netflix movie. Diaz and Foxx give Emily and Matt a natural chemistry as spies, husband and wife, and as parents. From Alice and Leo saying their parents cannot be spies because they are in a pickleball league to Emily beating up a man for calling her a Boomer, there are already plenty of funny moments, with more comedy and action ahead when Back in Action releases on January 17.
