Many months after the movie wrapped filming, the latest news finds director Paul Feig addressing A Simple Favor 2‘s cancelation rumors. After a series of posts on X (by user @Oflululemon) claimed that A Simple Favor 2 was scrapped because of Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, director Paul Feig responded in his own posts that debunked the rumors. Calling the rumors totally false, Feig went on to claim that the sequel is finished and will be coming out soon. However, release details remain elusive.

No Release Date Has Been Announced

As was previously announced, A Simple Favor 2 went into production in spring 2024, and the filming process was rather short. In late-May 2024, director Paul Feig announced that filming for the sequel was nearly completed, meaning it only took a few months. However, no released date for A Simple Favor 2 has been announced, and it’s unclear exactly when the sequel will be put on the calendar.

In January 2025, rumors that the film had been scrapped began appearing online, but Paul Feig was quick to shut those down. The director announced that the film was completed, and that it would be released soon. However, nobody involved with the movie has been doing much promotion, and there have been no hints about a release window.
