Fillion portrayed Dr. Jim Pomatter, Jenna’s awkward yet affable love interest. With an impressive 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes, Waitress became a darling among critics and audience members alike and was later adapted into a Broadway musical.
Waitress: The Musical is heading to Max on February 14. The musical, which made its debut in 2015, features Sara Bareilles, who also composed the music and lyrics. Bareilles stars as Jenna, while Drew Gehling plays Fillion’s character. The musical was adapted for the stage by Jessie Nelson and directed by Diane Paulus, with Bareilles’ score earning both Tony and Grammy nominations.
