Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Has The Most Epic Ending Of The Entire Franchise

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has the most action-packed and exciting climax of the franchise, proving that the series keeps getting better with every new movie. The story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 follows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, who are recruited by GUN to take on Shadow the Hedgehog. However, Shadow beats them all in the fight, leading Team Sonic to reunite with Ivo Robotnik, the villain of the previous two Sonic movies. Meanwhile, Shadow teams up with Gerald Robotnik, the grandfather of Ivo, who is also played by Jim Carrey.

All of these aforementioned characters play an important role during the climax of Sonic 3. The first two Sonic movies also included exciting final battles, but the ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 features several of the best moments of the franchise. The climax of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 not only includes exciting action, but also features important character moments that deepen the meaning of the movie. Therefore, it is clear that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has the best ending of the franchise.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3’s Ending Is The Biggest & Best Of The Franchise

Sonic 3’s Ambitious Climax Works Very Well

At the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Gerald Robotnik emerges as the true villain of the film and enacts his plan to use the Eclipse Cannon to wipe out all of humanity. Therefore, the climax of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 revolves around a potentially world-ending event. Only Team Sonic can stop Gerald Robotnik, but Shadow, who works with Gerald throughout the movie, is in their way. This leads to an intense fight between Sonic and Shadow, during which they are both in their Super forms.

During their fight, Sonic is the most powerful he’s ever been in the movies, but he refuses to defeat Shadow because he realizes revenge is not the answer. During the climax, both Sonic and Shadow come to the realization that their actions are wrong. This prompts them to work together to stop Gerald. Meanwhile, Ivo Robotnik also realizes he has to stop his grandfather while on the ARK with him. This leads to Ivo sacrificing his own life to save humanity, which is potentially the most emotional moment in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3’s Ending Raises The Bar For Sonic 4

Sonic 3’s Ending Puts Pressure On Sonic The Hedgehog 4

The climax of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is more exciting than the endings of the previous two movies. It not only serves to be the most emotional ending of the series, but also delivers the long-awaited fight between Sonic and Shadow. This means that the bar has been raised for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Each film in the Sonic series has managed to be better than the previous movie, so Sonic the Hedgehog 4’s ending needs to top Sonic 3’s exciting conclusion.

This will be tough, as the character of Ivo Robotnik has been built up for three movies. Since Ivo seemingly dies at the end of Sonic 3, the ending of Sonic 4 may struggle to be as emotional. Furthermore, Shadow is one of the most popular characters in the entire franchise. Therefore, including him in Sonic 3 guaranteed that the climax would be exciting. Hopefully new characters, such as Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, can provide more exciting moments in the next movie, but Sonic 4 will undoubtedly have a tough time besting the ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
