Ryan Reynolds officially joined the MCU in Phase 5’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, along with a mulтιтude of actors who made appearances in the film. Reynolds was quickly confirmed to be making the move from Fox’s X-Men franchise to Marvel Studios following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019 as the actor’s version of Merc with a Mouth was a fan-favorite character in Fox’s superhero universe and a constant success story, while the other projects in the franchise were faltering, so his debut in the MCU’s Phase 5 was a highly-anticipated addition to Marvel Studios’ franchise.

The movie sees the heroes crossing realities thanks to the TVA, which leads to a broad range of cameos in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. As well as a couple of MCU newcomers, several actors from Fox’s X-Men and ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool universe appear in the movie, allowing plenty of dormant roles to be reprized. Similarly, the selection of cameos in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine bring some surprising faces into its cast, enhancing the story and providing audiences with a lot of fun moments.

Main Characters In ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine

While there are many characters in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, the film’s core focus is on a handful of them, diving deeper into who they are and their motivations.

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool (& Nicepool)

Ryan Reynolds and ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool have become synonymous, especially since the latter wouldn’t exist in live-action without the persistence and dedication of the actor. Reynolds became interested in the role after the Marvel Comics character referred to his own appearance as “Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar-Pei.” After debuting as a version of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Reynolds set to work on adapting a more comic-accurate iteration. He portrayed Wade Wilson in 2016’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and 2018’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2, and was working on an X-Force film with Josh Brolin as Cable, which was canceled after Marvel Studios acquired the character.

Much like the previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool films, Reynolds was incredibly hands-on in the production of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. The actor worked closely with Marvel to develop the screenplay, and met with potential writers including Bob’s Burgers writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, although original ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were eventually chosen to rewrite the script. It’s also worth noting that Ryan Reynolds plays another role in the movie, appearing as the MCU’s Nicepool – an unscarred version of Wade Wilson with long flowing hair and a cheerful disposition, who is later revealed to not share ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s healing factor in brutal fashion. While the credits attribute this role to “Gordon Reynolds,” this is a joke in allusion to Ryan Reynolds’ self-interview in GQ‘s 2016 Men of the Year issue, where he invents a fake twin to question him.

Nicholas Pauley Is The One Behind Dancepool

The opening scene of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine features Wade Wilson dancing to N’Sync’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” while brutally murdering TVA agents with the skeleton of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Wolverine. It’s an incredible opening, but Nicholas Pauley deserves credit for bringing Dancepool to life, as he was the man behind the mask for the dance sequence.

Hugh Jackman as Logan aka Wolverine

On September 27, 2022, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman released a video announcing Jackman’s return as James “Logan” Howlett, a.k.a. Wolverine, in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. Jackman originally portrayed Fox’s Wolverine in eight films over 17 years, finally retiring the role in 2017’s Logan, which was billed as Jackman’s final adventure in the X-Men franchise.

After Kevin Feige revealed the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars, there was speculation that Jackman would return as Wolverine in the multiversal adventure, but the confirmation of his return in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was much more exciting, as he performs opposite this version of Reynolds’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool for the first time on the big screen.

Hugh Jackman’s involvement in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine meant that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s relentless jokes about his relationship with Wolverine could finally pay off, and the entertaining dynamic between a character who is gruff and stoic and one who is constantly talking was explored hilariously in the film. The Wolverine that Hugh Jackman plays in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine is notably a different one to the one who appears in Logan.

Luke Bennet Was The Stand-in For Comic Accurate Wolverine

Hugh Jackman is 6’2″, while comic accurate Wolverine is typically 5’3″. This has been a point of contention since Jackman was first cast in the role for X-Men. During a multiversal montage trying to find another Wolverine, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool stumbles upon a much shorter version of Logan, poking fun at the comic accuracy. Luke Bennet, who is even shorter than the comic Wolverine at just under 5 feet, was the body stand-in for this scene and Hugh Jackman’s head was CGI’d on.

Emma Corrin as Cᴀssandra Nova

English actor Emma Corrin was revealed to be cast in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine on February 14, 2023, in an initially undisclosed role that was later revealed to be Cᴀssandra Nova, Charles Xavier’s twin sister and a lifelong Marvel villain. The actor’s version of the character shares this backstory, only tweaking some details as this iteration of Cᴀssandra is revealed to have spent more of her life in the Void. She presents one of the biggest obstacles for both ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and Wolverine to overcome, essentially being the main villain of the film.

Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox

Towards the beginning of the film, Paradox explains the multiverse and different timelines to Wade Wilson, breaking the news that his universe is dying due to the death of Logan. Instead of letting the universe die slowly, Paradox wants to usher it along, hoping to get ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool to leave it and join the MCU’s sacred timeline. For most of the film, Paradox is presented as the big bad, but he quietly takes a back seat to Cᴀssandra Nova in the climax.

Returning Characters From The Fox ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Movies

The first two ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool movies featured a fantastic cast of characters that impacted Wade Wilson in a number of ways. A solid number of them return for ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, but many only have a few brief moments of screentime.

Morena Baccarin as Vanessa

Following appearances in both ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2, it was unclear if Morena Baccarin would reprise her role of Vanessa Carlysle in the MCU’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. The opening moments of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2 saw the character killed, motivating Wade Wilson to join the X-Men and save Julian Dennsion’s Russell Collins, a.k.a. Firefist. However, Vanessa was revived thanks to Cable’s time-travel technology in the film’s post-credits scenes, and she appears in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, adding another dynamic to Wade Wilson as a character.

Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Brianna Hildebrand debuted as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in 2016’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, a young member of the X-Men who has the ability to generate atomic blasts from her body. She makes a small appearance in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine during Wade Wilson’s birthday party early on in the film. She is still dating Yukio and still has strong banter with Wade.

Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio

Alongside Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna returned for the film, after portraying Yukio in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2. Yukio is Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend and fellow X-Man, with her mutation granting her the ability to control electricity. Wade Wilson and Yukio have a fun relationship, and it continues with her handful of scenes in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine.

Leslie Uggams as Blind Al

Blind Al became ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s roommate after providing him with advice on how to wash blood out of his costume and inspiring his decision to design his iconic red suit. Uggams provided previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool films with some of their best jokes and continues to show her comedic talents in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. One of her most memorable scenes features her and Wade Wilson trying to get by the censors Marvel Studios placed on the film.

Karan Soni as Dopinder

Karan Soni reprised his role of Dopinder, everyone’s favorite cab driver who routinely ferries ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool from mission to mission. Like many of the other returning characters in the film, Dopinder has a handful of scenes that take place during Wade’s birthday.

Rob Delaney as Peter

Rob Delaney has the most significant role when it comes to returning characters from the Fox franchise. He is best friends with Wade Wilson, as the two of them work together as car salesmen. Towards the end of the film, it is revealed that every ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool variant has a Peter, and he is extremely popular with the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps.

Stefan Kapičić as Colossus

Stefan Kapičić also reprises his role of Colossus in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, a role he took over from Donald MacKinnon from previous films in Fox’s X-Men franchise. Like most of the cast from the first two ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool films, Colossus doesn’t have much of a role in this one, mostly acting as a cameo during a birthday celebration for Wade.

Randall Reeder as Buck

Randall Reeder’s Buck returns to ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine as another one of Wade’s birthday party guests. Having appeared in both of the previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool films, Buck was featured as a frequent patron of Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Children, the bar and dispatch center for mercenaries.

Lewis Tan as Shatterstar

Lewis Tan’s Shatterstar returns in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, as initially confirmed by the movie’s first trailer. Seen alongside many of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s friends and family at Wade Wilson’s birthday party, Shatterstar’s presence confirms Wade’s time travel efforts at the end of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2 were a success and that X-Force was saved from their grisly deaths.

Marvel Legacy Characters (And ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s New Team)

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine brought in a number of surprising legacy characters that have had a part in Marvel’s film history over the past three decades. Most of them teamed up with ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and Wolverine to help them fight Cᴀssandra Nova and her group towards the climax of the film.

Chris Evans As Johnny Storm

The prospective returns of Chris Evans as Captain America and Robert Donwey Jr as Iron Man have been at the forefront of questions about the MCU whenever they arise. As such, the appearance of Evans in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was a colossal reveal that the movie unveils relatively early on in its run and one which carries a lot of implications for the franchise both in-universe and in real life. Because he died relatively early on in the film, he wasn’t able to join ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s team towards the end.

However, it’s worth noting that Chris Evans returns here as not Steve Rogers but rather Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, reprising the role from the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four movies. As such, the film is able to give the actor different kinds of comedic moments that better suit the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool tone without risking sabotaging Rogers’ on-screen legacy, which works best for the movie, for the MCU, and for Evans’ performance as well, as it lets him lean into a character who is quite different to Captain America in a lot of ways.

Jennifer Garner As Elektra

Garner appearing in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine as Elektra was floated far before her casting was confirmed. The multiversal concept of the movie – and the idea it would fold in prior film releases – almost immediately raised the possibility that the actor could return and be able to show her talents in the role further. Despite not having a great initial outing as the character in the early-2000s, Garner stepped right back into the role for the film, being an integral part of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s team.

Dafne Keen As X-23

Dafne Keen’s return as X-23 – also known as Laura – in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was released just days prior to the movie’s cinematic debut and caused the excitement for the film to reach new heights. As Wolverine’s adoptive daughter and the other main protagonist of Logan, Laura’s story continuing into the MCU movie was naturally a huge deal, and the end of the film left it open for her possible return in future MCU projects. Seeing her alongside Wolverine and fighting again was a treat for all Logan fans.

Wesley Snipes As Blade

While there had been some rumors that Wesley Snipes’ Blade would make another appearance in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, this was waved away by many due to reports of Snipes and Reynolds not seeing eye to eye when filming Blade: Trinity. However, Snipes’ appearance alongside Garner’s Elektra and Keen’s Laura makes for a truly thrilling hero team made in the Void, and the actor is able to channel the character again effectively despite having had decades away from the Blade franchise, even making a callback to his iconic “ice skating uphill” line from the original trilogy.

Channing Tatum as Gambit

Channing Tatum was initially intended to play Gambit in a Marvel movie that was eventually canceled in 2019 after a several years-long production process. With Tatum reportedly having been eyed to play Gambit as far back as the 2003 X2 movie, it’s perhaps only natural that the actor became such a popular fan casting choice for the character, and thus that he was chosen to appear in the role in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine.

The final member of the group comprising Blade, Elektra, and Laura, seeing Tatum in the role is an accomplishment that’s also been years in the making and helps make the Marvel movie’s love letter to its cinematic history feel complete. This also allows the character’s powers to be showcased in full force after years of being absent in live-action – something that’s all the greater for X-Men ’97‘s reminder of Gambit’s immense potential not long before.

MCU Characters That Appear In ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine

Since ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was the first film in the franchise to be produced by Marvel Studios, there was a possibility that there would be significant cameos of characters from the MCU. That didn’t necessarily happen in the film, though, as it focused mostly on Fox’s Marvel characters, but there were still a couple of familiar faces from the Sacred timeline.

Wunmi Mosaku as B-15

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine tying into Loki‘s story meant it would naturally benefit by having a member of the MCU show cast appear in its run, and this led to the appearance of Wunmi Mosaku as B-15. While she doesn’t have a mᴀssive role in the film, she does make a great bridge between ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and the MCU and her attraction to Peter is a hilarious moment.

Jon Favreau As Happy Hogan

One of the forefathers of the MCU also reprised his role in the franchise in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, as Favreau once again appeared as Happy Hogan following 10 prior appearances in the Marvel timeline. In the film, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool meets with Happy Hogan to see about potentially getting a role in the Avengers, with Hogan instead recommending Wade aim for something more manageable. Since the movie doesn’t feature the cast of the MCU in a major capacity for the most part, this works effectively to show ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool interacting with key figures in Marvel’s main movie timeline.

Henry Cavill As A Wolverine Variant

Perhaps the most surprising cameo in all of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine shows DCEU Superman actor Henry Cavill as one of a series of Wolverine variants. While the nature of this sequence – which flips through a series of alternate universes in quick succession – doesn’t show this version of Wolverine for very long, it’s certainly a moment that’s sure to have stuck with viewers, especially since Cavill has been such a popular fan cast for the MCU’s Logan, and these hopes have only increased after the end of the DCEU itself.

The Void’s Villain Cameos

After entering the Void, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and Wolverine encounter a variety of villains that previously had roles in Fox’s X-Men movies. Some characters had their original actors playing them, while others were recast, or were another variant of the same character, all working for Cᴀssandra Nova.

Aaron Standford as Pyro

Aaron Stanford also returned in the movie as Pyro. He first appeared in Fox’s X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, having left Charles Xavier’s School in favor of Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. In ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, it is revealed that Pyro is working with Paradox against Cᴀssandra Cain.

Tyler Mane As Sabretooth

Having last appeared in the original X-Men movie, Tyler Mane returned 24 years later to take on the role of Sabretooth once more. The film sees Wolverine and Sabretooth duke it out again after decades of their rivalry being unaddressed on the big screen. While Sabretooth isn’t a main character in the story, his appearance is another welcome nod to the Fox movie landscape and lets audiences see a Wolverine rematch they perhaps thought would never happen.

Daniel Medina Ramos As Toad

Toad has already appeared multiple times in Fox’s X-Men films. Ray Park played the character in the original X-Men in 2000. X-Men: Days of Future Past brought back a younger version of the character played by Evan Jonigkeit. Meanwhile, Daniel Medina Ramos steps into the role for ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, portraying a version that looks quite similar to Ray Park’s character.

Aaron W. Reed As Juggernaut

Aaron W. Reed provides another live-action version of Cain Marko, with the first on-screen version of the Juggernaut being played by Vinnie Jones in X-Men: The Last Stand – which contains his infamous catchphrase scene – and an iteration appearing in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2 voiced by Ryan Reynolds. While Reed’s Juggernaut has a background role in the movie, being another of Cᴀssandra Nova’s villain team, this still serves to add another take on the character into the Marvel movie landscape, potentially setting the stage for an MCU rendition when the X-Men formally make their debut.

Mike Waters As The Blob

Mike Waters appears as the Blob during the Void scenes in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, being another member of Cᴀssandra Nova’s posse who faces off against Blade in the major fight between Nova’s forces and the Resistance. This makes Waters the third actor to play the Blob in Marvel’s live-action movie history, coming after Kevin Durand and Gustav Claude Ouimet’s iterations of the character.

Billy Clements As The Russian

Billy Clements plays The Russian during the fight scenes in the Void towards the end of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. This isn’t the first time The Russian has appeared in a Marvel film, as Kevin Nash played the character in The Punisher from 2004. Clements doesn’t get much screen-time as the character but it is nice to see a deep-cut like that in the film.

Eduardo Gago Munez As Azazel

Azazel first appeared in X-Men: First Class as a member of Sebastian Shaw’s villain team. He wasn’t seen in any other film until ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. Much like most of the villains in this movie, Azazel has a small part in the Void as part of Cᴀssandra Nova’s group. This time, Azazel was portrayed by Eduardo Gago Munez, and got to show off a bit of his teleporting powers.

Ayesha Hussain As Psylocke

Ayesha Hussain has a very brief role as Psylocke in the film, where she can be seen fighting during the final confrontation in the Void. Despite being a relatively popular character, Psylocke has only appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse, played by Olivia Munn. Unfortunately, Psylocke is only a tiny part of the film, which is par for the course for all the void villains.

Jade Lye As Lady Deathstrike

Lady Deathstrike, played by Kelly Hu, was a force to be reckoned with in X2: X-Men United, taking Logan to his absolute limit in the final act of the film. Despite being awesome in that film, Lady Deathstrike had no other live-action appearances until ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. Jade Lye plays the character this time around, and there is a brief moment when she extends her fingernail claws.

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps

After ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool initially encountered Nicepool in the Void, the possibility of more variants of the character appearing was strong, and by the climax of the film, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and Wolverine are fighting a horde known as the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps, all having distinct characteristics.

Blake Lively As Lady ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool

After months of rumors and theories that successful actor and Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, would be the top casting pick for Lady ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, the movie credits confirmed she was indeed in the role. Since Lady ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool wears ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s iconic red and black mask for her entire appearance, it’s a little trickier to know definitely if the character is her by her voice alone, but mercifully the installment is able to reveal her idenтιтy to any uncertain audience members before the credits end, cementing a wonderful sneak appearance for the actor.

Matthew McConaughey As Cowboy ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool

Entertainingly, the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine credits can also be used to confirm another famous actor has a masked cameo in the MCU release – namely, that of movie star Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey appears as the western-themed Cowboy ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool but is another major figure who many viewers may not recognize due to the fact his face also doesn’t appear in the course of the film itself, particularly since he has a smaller speaking role than Lady ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool.

Inez Reynolds As Kidpool

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children also make appearances in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, with Inez Reynolds getting perhaps the most recognizable of them by playing Kidpool, who is both a staple of Marvel Comics’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps and a member of the MCU iteration. Kidpool being played by Inez Reynolds also adds a little extra to the character’s most prominent moment in the movie, wherein the young mercenary tells ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, “When I want your opinion, I’ll take Wolverine’s d*** out of your mouth!”

Olin Reynolds As Babypool

Olin Reynolds is another of Ryan Reynold and Blake Lively’s children who appears in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, this time as the youngest member of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps, Babypool. Babypool is one of the more background members of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps, but certainly helps to round out its roster and ensure that audiences see a wide range of variants have taken on the red and black mantle throughout the multiverse.

Nathan Fillion As Headpool

Blake Lively and Matthew McConaughey are joined by Nathan Fillion in the ranks of actors who voice ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool variants in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine. That said, Fillion’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool variant may arguably be the most standout figure in the roster, since Headpool is, as the name may suggest, just the disembodied head and spinal column of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, still clad in the iconic antihero’s mask and topped with a propeller hat so that the character can get around.

While it’s thus understandable viewers may not have been able to fully gather that Headpool is played by Nathan Fillion as a result, his vast range of performances – including in releases that still have a fanbase to this day like Firefly and Castle – may have allowed some audiences to get at least a hint of who played the role before the credits confirmed as much. Indeed, superhero fans may also have been able to spot the actor’s voice before getting a concrete reveal, since Fillion has appeared in releases like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and The Suicide Squad.

Paul Mullin As Welshpool

One of the more unusual castings in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine is that of Welshpool, a ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool variant who can easily be picked out among the other versions of the character due to the Welsh flag embossed on his armor. Welshpool is played by Wrexham football player Paul Mullin, which may have come as a surprise since the athlete has had no prior acting appearances. However, with Ryan Reynolds co-owning the Wrexham football club, the link between the pair is clear, and cemented by the fact that the Welshpool suit now resides in the StōK Cae Ras Stadium in Wrexham itself.

Alex Kyshkovych As Canadapool

Alex Kyshkovych has been part of a range of superhero releases, making his appearance as Canadapool in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine all the more noteworthy. While Canadapool is one of the more blink-and-miss-it appearances in the ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Corps, his black suit with complete with maple leaf marking at least makes him one of the more distinctive variants in the overall group, leaving him as an exciting cameo for fans.

An established stunt double, Kyshkovych has appeared in DC and Marvel releases alike, serving as a stunt double for Ryan Reynolds in all three ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool movies, and a fight coordinator and stunt performer in DC’s Peacemaker season 1. The performer was also a stunt double for Adan Canto and Nicholas Hoult in X-Men: Days Of Future Past – repeating the role of Hoult’s stunt double in Dark Phoenix – and served as a utility stunts performer for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Peggy The Dog As Dogpool

A canine addition to a mostly human movie, Dogpool is played by Peggy, known for winning a “Britain’s Ugliest Dog” compeтιтion in 2023. Peggy’s new role in the MCU movie has won her a whole new roster of fans, with her charming performance adding another dimension to the franchise.

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine Characters With Much Smaller Roles

The film also contains a handful of scenes that involve characters that don’t necessarily have a significant impact on the film, or have been in previous Marvel or Fox films. Still, most of their scenes are a lot of fun.

Sonita Henry as Mrs. Chipman

Sonita Henry appears as one of the Chipman family in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, who spend the movie looking to buy a car, initially from Wade during his stint in civilian work, and then later from Peter. One of their later scenes is pretty hilarious, involving both ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and Wolverine.

Ryan McKen As Mr. Chipman

Ryan McKen plays the other parent of the Chipman family, who is also part of their quest to find a new reasonably priced car. While the Chipmans are side characters, they are part of some key moments in the movie. The family is completed by two children, Elliot and Kevin Chapman, who are played by Nanak Phlora and Aydin Ahmed respectively, in what is the first on-screen role for both.

James Dryden As TVA Tech

When ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool enters the TVA, he finds himself interacting with an unnamed TVA employee who he believes has some kind of fascination with him. The role is part of many of the early jokes in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, and becomes part of an early example of some of the slow-motion, music-led portions of the movie that are a defining mark of its style.

Paul G. Raymond As TVA Agent

Paul G. Raymond is another TVA agent who appears in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, ensuring the scenes in Mr. Paradox’s Time Variance Authority base look as though the location is populated by a team of workers focused on observing the multiverse’s timelines.

Greg Hamphill As The Bartender

Greg Hamphill plays the bartender in the scene that introduces Hugh Jackman’s new Wolverine variant. Drinking alone at a bar, Hamphill’s character provides the first glimpse at how this version of Logan is received in his home universe, telling Wolverine that he wants him to get out of the bar, and that nobody wants him there. Given how elusive the specific details of Wolverine’s backstory are for most of the movie, this moment is deeply helpful in establishing the base facts of what Logan’s life was like up to the point audiences first meet him.

Leemore Marrett Jr. As Minuteman Leader

When the Time Variance Authority first come to collect ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, they are led by one notable character played by Leemore Marrett Jr., who the antihero riffs at before the group drag him to Mr. Paradox’s TVA base. As such, Leemore Marrett Jr’s role is crucial in the story, and provides another early opportunity for Wade Wilson to flex his comedic muscles before the main part of the plot properly gets underway.
