Jon Hamm’s Star-Studded Comedy With 20% Rotten Tomatoes Score Climbs Streaming Chart 9 Years Later

Jon Hamm is known mainly as a TV actor. He has been nominated for multiple Emmys, mostly for playing the lead role of Don Draper in the hit series Mad Men. Despite all of his nominations, he only ever won an Emmy once for the role. Nonetheless, Hamm has continued to be a prominent actor in the television sector, being nominated for Emmys twice in 2024 for his parts in The Morning Show and Fargo. Most recently, Hamm played a significant role in the popular Taylor Sheridan show, Landman.

Though his focus has been TV, Hamm is also known for a number of film roles. He made his film debut in a tiny role in the Clint Eastwood film Space Cowboys, before going back into a TV streak once again. Some of his other notable film roles, however, include The Town, Million Dollar Arm, and Tag, all of which feature Hamm in bigger roles than what he had in Space Cowboys. Now, one of Hamm’s other movies is doing well on its streaming service.

Keeping Up With The Joneses Is Now A Streaming Success

The Movie Did Not Get Good Reviews

Keeping Up with the Joneses is now a streaming success. Hamm is one member of a multi-talented ensemble in the movie whose cast also includes Zach Galifianakis, Isla Fisher, Patton Oswalt, Gal Gadot, and Matt Walsh. Despite this strong cast, Keeping Up with the Joneses was poorly reviewed, getting a 20% Tomatometer among Rotten Tomatoes critics. Audiences did not seem to like it much better, as their approval rating was only a 37%, and it grossed only $29 million on an estimated $40 million budget.

Keeping Up with the Joneses has made a streaming recovery nine years later, however, as the movie is now a success on Max. As per FlixPatrol, the Hamm film is now no. 4 on Max’s top 10 movies in the United States today (January 20). The film is also rising on the charts, as it was no. 6 on January 19 and no. 7 on January 18.

The chart status of Keeping Up with the Joneses falls into a Hamm-heavy streaming pattern that has come across multiple platforms lately. Hamm’s movie Tag recently made it onto the Prime Video charts, and has stayed pretty strong. Both of theses movies are years old, but the common thread between them is Hamm. Landman‘s successful release has probably cued a renewed interest in Hamm, explaining why his films are surfacing on multiple streaming charts despite their lackluster reviews.
