3 IRANIAN SUBMARINES VS U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIER IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ.lh

In a high-stakes underwater confrontation on day 54 of the 2026 US-Iran war, three Iranian submarines launched a daring and aggressive ᴀssault against the U.S. aircraft carrier strike group patrolling the narrow waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, the Iranian Kilo-class and Fateh-class submarines attempted to penetrate the carrier group’s defensive screen under cover of darkness. The subs fired torpedoes and anti-ship cruise missiles in a coordinated attack aimed at the mᴀssive American supercarrier. U.S. destroyers and helicopters responded immediately with intense anti-submarine warfare operations, deploying sonobuoys, depth charges, and Mk-54 torpedoes.

The clash turned violent within minutes. At least one Iranian submarine was confirmed destroyed in a mᴀssive underwater explosion, while the other two came under heavy pursuit. Dramatic sonar recordings released by the U.S. Navy captured the chaos as American forces hunted the remaining subs in the shallow, dangerous waters of the Strait.

This bold Iranian naval gamble comes as Tehran grows increasingly desperate. Despite suffering heavy losses from B-2 strikes on its underground tunnels, A-10 Warthog ground attacks, and the destruction of 125 Shahed drones, Iran continues to challenge American dominance in the critical chokepoint.

The U.S. maintains overwhelming force in the region with a full carrier strike group, F-35 squadrons, the USS Tripoli, 13,000 Marines, and dozens of V-22 Ospreys now on station.

U.S. Central Command reports nearly 200 American troops injured across the theater with 13 confirmed deaths. No major damage to the U.S. carrier has been reported so far. President Donald Trump reacted swiftly, stating: “Our Navy just reminded Iran why America rules the seas. Those submarines picked the wrong fight.”

Brent crude prices spiked above $128 per barrel as markets reacted to the renewed naval fighting in the world’s most vital oil route.

The dramatic submarine-versus-carrier battle underscores how intensely contested the Strait of Hormuz has become. With American naval superiority on full display, Iran’s latest gamble appears to have come at a heavy cost.

The situation is extremely tense and developing by the minute.
