On March 26, 2026, at Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) – one of the largest and most demanding firing ranges of the U.S. Army on the island of Hawaii – soldiers of the 3rd Marine Division participated in a large-scale and extremely intense live-fire training exercise.
During the exercise, units conducted live-fire drills with various weapons, closely coordinating infantry fire, fire support, and tactical maneuvering. The main objective of the training was to refine weapon system usage skills and tactical capabilities, significantly enhancing the unit’s lethality (lethality) and overall combat readiness.
This is a crucial part of the 3rd Littoral Combat Team (3rd LCT) training plan, preparing for future operational requirements in the challenging Indo-Pacific environment. The Marines continuously practiced under high pressure, simulating real combat situations: moving quickly under fire, seizing positions, exploiting the volcanic and desert terrain of Pohakuloa, while maintaining perfect teamwork.

The Pohakuloa Training Area, with its diverse terrain, harsh climate, and vast space, was the “ideal battlefield” for the 3rd Marine Division’s training. Every sH๏τ fired, every tactical decision made, contributed to transforming the soldiers into an elite, flexible force ready to face any situation on the modern battlefield.
This training once again affirmed the 3rd Marine Division’s commitment to maintaining the highest level of combat readiness and thorough preparation for all future missions. With a “First to Fight” spirit, Marines constantly improve their skills, ensuring that when orders are given, they will always be the most reliable, formidable, and leading force of the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific region.
