🚨 ’17 American Bases Bombed’: Iranian Retaliation ‘WIPES OUT’ Air Defences, Inflicts Casualties On U.S.hl

In a dramatic overnight escalation on March 18, 2026, Iran launched its largest retaliatory barrage yet, claiming to have bombed 17 American military bases across Iraq, Syria, and the Gulf region while “wiping out” key U.S. air defense systems.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared victory, stating that waves of ballistic missiles and drones had successfully struck multiple U.S. installations, destroying radar sites, air defense batteries, and causing “heavy casualties” among American forces. Iranian state media released videos showing explosions and claimed the operation was revenge for recent Israeli and U.S. strikes on Tehran and the killing of Supreme Leader Khamenei.

However, the reality on the ground tells a more measured story.

US Central Command acknowledged that several bases came under attack and confirmed some casualties, describing the losses as “painful but limited.” While a number of missiles were intercepted, several impacts caused damage to infrastructure and air defense ᴀssets at forward positions. CENTCOM stated that the majority of Iranian projectiles were neutralized and that U.S. forces remain fully operational across the theater.

This latest Iranian offensive follows weeks of intense fighting: heavy strikes on Dubai, Bahrain, and Kuwait, attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, and failed attempts to damage American carrier groups.

America’s response has been swift and powerful.

The dual supercarrier strike group — USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford — continues to dominate the Arabian Sea under Operation Epic Fury. Both carriers remain completely undamaged and are launching round-the-clock combat missions against Iranian targets. Long-range B-52 bombers have also joined the campaign, adding overwhelming strike power that Iran has no clear answer for.

Thousands of U.S. Marines, recently deployed by CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters, have strengthened coalition positions and are ready to respond to further aggression.

Despite Iran’s bold claims of wiping out U.S. defenses, the broader picture shows a regime fighting for survival. Its missile stockpiles are depleting rapidly, its naval forces have suffered heavy losses, and its proxies are under intense pressure.

Gulf nations have strongly condemned the attacks on American bases as “reckless escalation” and reaffirmed their unity with the United States.

Iran may have inflicted some painful blows tonight, but the United States and its allies retain overwhelming military superiority. Every Iranian attack only accelerates the systematic dismantling of the regime’s remaining capabilities.
